"Or, maybe Zeppos made it clear that James Franklin needed to 'get out of town' while the getting was good..."

Now some are saying that he was run out of town!!!! This is the gift that keeps on giving. I can't wait to get in my car to go home and hear some more of this stuff.

From the same thread:
So let's see...Saban, David Shaw, Bob Stoops, Kingsbury, Morris, Hudspeth and Mason (assuming Stanford's DC?) all in the same thread.

Actually in one list I saw all those plus Greg Roman, Schiano, Rich Rodriguez, , Jim Tressel, Al Golden, David Cutcliffe, Kirby Smart,

and my personal favorite.

JON GRUDEN.

Who do they think they are? One of the UTs?

Only Tennessee and Texas are allowed to have lists like that!

The best one was Mack Brown by Clay Travis. "His brother was a coach, and he played here!"

I've always read about Clay Travis being butt buddies with CJF here on VN, but after perusing his website in the wake of CJF going to PSU...It's blatantly obvious Clay has his face buried in CJF's crotch. He said Texas would forever regret not hiring CJF :eek:lol: I didn't think they even interviewed him. He's far less accomplished than Strong.

Most humorous part to me is all the clowns who believe that BS about him being on the hook for the $31 Mil practice facility if he leaves. I thought Vandy fans weren't supposed to be completely dumb.

I can't listen to 3HL on 104.5. The guy is a Mega-Vandy homer who takes shots at Tennessee whenever he can.

Vandy fan coming to terms... :)

"The worst thing about this, in addition to losing our coach who's led us to three bowl games, is that it perpetuates the notion that other teams' fans and the media have that Vanderbilt is just a "stepping stone" for coaches to get "better" jobs through.

Like Western Kentucky, where Petrino stayed for one year and then went to Louisville. The coach before Petrino, Willie Taggart, was only there three years and then headed to South Florida.

UT fans and fans on other messageboards have continually said that Franklin would head to another job as soon as it was offered to him. I have tried to argue with them and say, No, Franklin is here to stay, he likes it here at Vanderbilt. This is not the Vanderbilt of old when Steve Sloan bolted for another job or Gerry DiNardo bolted for another job as soon as they were offered to them. Look at Tim Corbin, I said. He's had other job offers but has stayed at Vanderbilt.

But as it turns out, they were right and I was wrong. Franklin is bolting for a "better" job because he thinks Penn State is a better job than Vanderbilt. Despite Penn State being on probation from bowl games and having scholarship reductions.

That is the most disappointing thing about this whole situation."

Another Vandy Fan...

"We'll have a very good coach and staff in here soon. Vanderbilt will keep recruiting well. Vanderbilt will continue to work toward upgrading facilities. Our players are talented, and we are not going back to the SOV days. Our players will not let ut at knoxville win in Nashville in 2014. I can't wait to see the players take us to another bowl a year from now. Life after the old coach is going to be fine."

That's right candy fans, even a PSU on life support after damn near getting the death penalty, a PSU with scholly restrictions & no bowls for years is a better place to coach & play football than VANDY :eek:lol:

Who is to say that Lane Kiffin won't leave Bammer to take the Candy job - once it is "officially" open.

Heard a VU fan yesterday on 104.5 in Nashville say "I really think we coulda won the SEC East next year and maybe compete for a Natl Championship on the next few years."

I thought.... You just had arguably the best season in school history.... Tradition East powers Tn, Ga and Fla were all way down.... and you still finished 4th in the SEC East.... Yes, FOURTH.
