Yeah, that just happened. They compared Mason to Bear Bryant.
If you ignore the difference in success, how about the fact that Texas A&M was struggling to get to get 4 wins and was finishing with 0-1 wins some of the time prior to Bear Bryant taking over. On the flipside, Vanderbilt was having their most success ever when Mason took over. Also, Bear Bryant was a first time head coach when he took over A&M. Mason is a first time head coach. Acting as if a proven coach with years of experience turning a team around is irrelevant to a first time head coach being terrible when the school is at it's peak. By that their logic, Saban sucked his first year at Alabama only winning 6 games I believe it was and he also lost to UL Monroe. Alabama was far from their best when he took over and Saban, like Bear, was a proven coach. I guess some Vandy fans can't differentiate between the two.
