Very Alarming Trend for Tennessee

The double whammy of Kerry Von Erik committing suicide and Ric Flair bolting from the NWA, I couldn't bring myself to watch anymore. It just wasn't the same.

Anyone who doesn't believe in the concept of curses should read the Von Erich family history.

I remember watching them in Texas Championship Wrestling, I think that's right, when they were in the beginnings. Before the NWA. Kerry was awsome. Seems like I remember alot of popular wrestlers coming out of that league as NWA and such came on. We got the TCW or whatever it was on cable.

I hadn't thought of this until someone brought it to my attention...

Tennessee Since 2002
2002 8-5
2003 10-3
2004 10-3
2005 5-6
2006 7-3

Record: 40-20 (.667)

Here's the problem: that represents an entire cycle of Tennessee Football. Unfortunately, 2006 isn't shaping up much better.

And people wonder why so many fans dont like Fulmer. You could also add 8-5 from 2000, our 2-3 bowl record since 2000 (with one no-show), 0-2 in sec cg games, our pre-season #4 rankings for both the '02 and '05 teams, and our 5-10 against top ten teams at home. But no, by all means, lets keep Fulmer.

while we are jumping around and picking seasons, I'll take
2001 11-2
2003 10-3
2004 10-3

In those 3 seasons the Vols made 2 SEC Championship Game appearances, and was eligible for the BCS twice. However, I'm still disappointed with 2 of those seasons. The Vols should have taken care of business in 2001 and taken their shot at the national title. And in 2003, they should have beaten unranked Clemson in the Peach Bowl, even if the bowl was considered a letdown for the #6 Vols.

If you were still disappointed with 2 of the 3 seasons that you picked out as good years, that just seems to add fuel to the fire that Fulmer should be gone!

Since when did a 3-loss season become good? Wait, I know...when you lose 5 games twice and 6 games once within a six year period, I guess 3 losses IS good.
