VFL in the context in which a lot of you use it

Yeah I guess whenever my contract is up and I get out of the army I can go be a VFL. Never mind the fact that I woke up every Saturday during football season during deployment to game cast Vol games before missions..

Air Force, but same here man. Game Cast every Saturday after the Georgia game (which I drove 9 hours to be at)

is ridiculous. If you don't now, nor have you ever played for the team, then you don't get to make that call. People who agree with you and would make bad career decisions are VFLs, while other people aren't true VFLs... blah blah blah what the hell ever.

You are like a bunch of children. Have fun with that.

^ Not a VFL imo, jmo ^

Been a vol fan all my life. I flew the power T flag on my humvee in iraq 2006-2007. Flew th same flag on my mrap in iraq 2009-2010. I did not go to UT nor do most fans that call themselves VFL. We are still vols just like the ones that put the Tennessee unis on. Can't we all just get along. By the way great coach hire by DH.

Can't blame Tee here. He tried to come back to us and was sent up the road to Kentucky! That has a ring to it, I think that has happened quite a few times, especially with players.

I'm sure he was aware of the dysfunctional leadership that was surrounding us at the time.If that played any part this time he would'nt have wasted his time flying in for a interview.Don't get me wrong I'm grateful for Tee he might have gave us the only NC I will see in my lifetime.

To be a VFL, you first have to be a Vol-- a student or alum of the University of Tennessee. Otherwise you're a Vol fan or VFFL.

Umm simply not true...didnt go to school here but im more of a VFL than most of those kids that call themselves a VFL...and in my opinion if u are a VFL u would come coach here if u had the chance like CJG!VFL

Why am I a VFL? Because I just told my life story to defend my devoted loyalty and allegiance to UT, because some idiot said I couldn't be one. Bam.

I disagree. You can't be a true VFL until you have two degrees from UTK, like me. If you don't go on to get a graduate degree, you obviously didn't really love UT at all.

Maybe he didn't like Butch Jones and doesn't want to work for him. Maybe his wife is adamantly opposed to moving to Knoxville. You think because he played here he's forever obliged to immediately work for UT whenever asked regardless of what else is going on in his life?

Yeah, maybe he has a big chip on his shoulder because Peyton gets more attention and respect from Vol fans than he does.I mean who Knows? I'm just saying that he does not want to be here and we'll be fine or better off than we was a month ago.

No, you said "the guy don't [sic] want to help the school that gave him a chance and education." That's a baseless sour grapes accusation.

UT has already made at least a couple orders of magnitude more money off Tee than they put into him. He doesn't owe us anything.

Edit: I am not even going to dignify that one with a response. Nitpicky bull****.

So the guy don't want to help the school that gave him a chance and education and you think we should call him VFL? I'm not boo hooing, but we can turn this thing around without him.

So, if we can turn it around without him, then why is it even an issue. The guy made a career decision. Are people suddenly supposed to make bad decisions because some idiot group of fans might get offended? That's what is ****ing ridiculous.

I think it may be because they asked him to take a pay cut from $500k/yr down to $175k/yr and to be satisfied with being a position coach for the duration of his contract. (I have no source. I just made that up.)

I mean I was always okay with whatever he was going to decide. I'm just happy he didn't come out and say we were all living in a fantasy world.

Imagine if he took the job. He could never leave or he'd be a traitor.

OK by me-- I have a B.S. and an MBA from UT, plus an MFA from UCLA. So I'm both a Vol and a Bruin. As much as I like Oregon, however, I'm not a Duck. I'm a Duck fan.

Obviously you aren't a real Duck fan, because you are a Bruin.

Thanks guys this has been fun.I'm sure Tee had his reasons and he may or may not be a VFL.But I can tell you I am and will always will be and if I can find a way I will be after I die!! My grapes are not sour.

I guess if you follow the same logic, Coach Cut should have run back to alma mammy bammy when she crooked her warty finger his way in the 90's. That alternate realty might be quite a bit different from the one we (and Tee) enjoyed.

Leave Tee alone. He decided what was best for himself.

And VFL can occur spontaneously without any credentials other than a love for the Vols.

Well, I suppose that's true. I'm only a Duck fan when they're not playing UCLA, but I'm the biggest Duck fan when they're playing SC.

I'm pretty sure a guy who roots for two teams in the same conference needs to calm down the preaching to other fans about what they can or can't call themselves.
