I think Godley will be back in the big league soon. He is pitching solid and throwing strikes keeping his team in games and the big league club pitchers have been eratic. He proved last year he can pitch at that level.

R.A. Dickey had a no decision in his start against the Orioles tonight. In 6 innings he gave up 3 earned runs, 5 hits and 2 walks while striking out 4; but 3 of the hits and all 3 runs were in the first inning, so it looks like he settled down and pitched well after the 1st.

He's had a tough first inning a lot.

Some quick updates on some of the minor leaguers: The 3 with the Tigers are having strong starts: Christin Stewart, lakeland flying tigers, leads the team and I think the league with 6 home runs in a league that is usually not great for hitters. A.J. Simcox, also with flying tigers, has been a fixture at short and beginning to heat up with the bat hitting .295 which is 3rd on the team. Will Maddox, with west michigan whitecaps, is batting .405 which is 3rd in his league and was 11-18 in his last 6 games. Drake Owenby is with Wisconsin Rattlers and has pitched well in his 3 outings, looks like he started one of those games going 5 solid innings, his era is 0.82. Andrew Lee continues to do well with National organization, he has started 4 games for Hagerstown pitching over 20 innings with a 2.25 ERA. Zach Osborne who was an undrafted free agent for the Rockies has made his way all the way to AA, playing solid second and shortstop, struggling a little at the plate, but adjusting to AA. Drew Steckinrider seems fully healthy and is mowing people down in the Marlins organization with the Jupiter Hammerheads.

Wow! Won't take long getting to the bigs at this rate

@MiLB: #Tigers #4 prospect Christin Stewart hits a grand slam for @MiLB-leading 13th HR. https://t.co/KTEmEMFuur https://t.co/YMlcn8AVHf

Wow. Never thought he would have that kind of power in the professionals. He was a decent power guy at UT but not like this. 13 HR already for him is quite unbelievable. I see that he's only batting .246 but the 13 HR over-rides that low average with that kind of power.

I was surprised to see he only has 2 steals as well in 35 games. He has more speed than that but it looks like HR or nothing going by most of his stats. He gets that average up a bit & he will be moving up pretty quickly through the minors.

Your impression of his skill set was formed by the style Bergeron was forcing. He really isn't a great runner and won't be in the professional ranks but he darn sure will hit for more power than here the longer he gets away from that style

Current Indians catcher & former Vol Jan Gomes had a big night tonight. He went 2-4 with 4 RBI including a 3 run HR in the 6th inning. Here's the boxscore: Cincinnati Reds vs. Cleveland Indians - Box Score - May 16, 2016 - ESPN

Also, former Vol & 2015 draft pick Christian Stewart is tearing it up at advanced A club Lakeland Tigers. Here's a link to his stats & profile page: Christin Stewart Stats, Highlights, Bio | Lakeland Flying Tigers Stats

Another former Vol having a decent season thus far is A.J. Simcox. He also plays for the advanced A club Lakeland Tigers as a teammate to Christian Stewart. Here's a link for his stats & profile page: A.J. Simcox Stats, Highlights, Bio | Lakeland Flying Tigers Stats

Another former Vol having a solid season is Matt Ramsey. He plays for the Jacksonville Suns AA level for the Marlins. Here's a link to his pitching stats & profile: Matt Ramsey Stats, Highlights, Bio | Jacksonville Suns Stats

One other former Vol to mention that's having a decent season. 2015 draft pick Andrew Lee plays for the Hagerstown Suns class A for the Nationals. Here's a link to his pitching stats & profile: Andrew Lee Stats, Highlights, Bio | Hagerstown Suns Stats

Drake Owenby and Andrew Lee are continuing to have solid pitching starts in the Brewers and Nationals organizations. Will Maddox is hitting .330 or better for tigers organization (West Michigan) and was Mid-west league player of the week a couple of weeks ago. Tigers are interesting, they are full of Vols and Sec players. I guess they were trying to replinish minor league with quick upside players. They have players from Vandy, South Carolina, Mississippi, Mississippi State and UGA at a minimum. Drew Steckinrider was pitching great in the Marlins organization (Jupiter), but last time I looked he was on 7-day DL.

Steckenrider picked up a save last night. After the Smokies game last night, I was listening to them recap the rest of the league and I heard them mention Drew. Since there's been all the talk about Delmonico, Nicky had a decent game for Birmingham last night versus the Smokies.

Thanks. I haven't been able to find any stat on him at all this year.

He's listed as "active" on the GCL Yankees roster. However, there's no stats for him in 2016 yet. My guess would be some type of injury or something going on off the field maybe.

If he was injured though it would be listed as 7-day, 60-day, or something. It says "active" though like he's on the roster just setting in the dugout/bullpen not pitching at all. That's weird. I'll see if I can find out more but this is definitely weird.

Godley went 7.1 last night. Gave up 1 run on 2 hits to pick up the win for the Baybears.

Yea, I can't find anything about him being hurt or released....and no stats.

Well, I know he's not been released from GCL Yankees. MLB teams & their minor affiliates keep these players status/stats up to date. Since it says "active" for him means he's on the roster & apparently not injured unless he has an injury that's day-to-day.

However, the season is what over 2 months old now. He wouldn't have went that long without pitching a single game with a day-to-day injury. I don't know what's going on.
