So you are saying the Dems who weren't in charge for Garland never made an argument for the appointment of Garland? Because I am pretty sure they did. So now that they are arguing against an appointment it is inconsistent.
I feel like you're not picking up on what I'm saying. Democrats are arguing now that we should not appoint a justice because four years ago that's exactly what Republicans did (to the detriment of the Democrats), citing that the American people should decide in an election year.
If current Democrats who argued for the appointment of Garland are now arguing that we should not appoint a judge in an election year because that's imprudent and we need to give the American people a voice during an election year then you're right. From what I've seen that's not what's being argued though; they are saying we should not do it because it's unfair and inconsistent. And we should all be concerned about what will come after this because there is a decent chance that Biden wins and Democrats take control of the Senate.
