Vick & dog fighting?

I don't think Vick was really involved other than having stupid relatives . . . We already knew he had stupid relatives though.

It would never happen, but I'll bet the Falcons have had at least a fleeting thought of trading up a spot or two and draft Brady Quinn.

According to the Humane Society they have been hearing reports Vick has been involved in it for sometime.

No proof he had anything to do with it. He was just dumb enough to let his cousin live there and not keep an eye on him. Then again it's not like Vick can say a whole lot.

If I'm the G.M. of the Falcons I send PETA a picture of me with with a "thumbs up" that says sure at the bottom. I'm gonna bench my qb because you said to!

Proof might not necessarily be needed. Commisioner Goodell seems to have sent the message that he really doesn't like putting up with stupidity.

I'm pretty sure it's bad luck to have somebody find emaciated pit bulls at a home you own the week that you are supposed to have dinner with the Commissioner.

The animal rights group PETA has asked Falcons owner Arthur Blank to suspend Vick pending the investigation and "to kick him off the team if it is found that dogs on Vick's property were neglected or used for fighting."

Well, that does it for me. If PETA is ticked off, then I have to support Vick. :dance2:

what's great is vick and all these relatives grew up and now live mere minutes from PETA's headquarters in Norfolk. The story broke earlier in Hampton Roads and it seemed they were trying to keep it quiet. Then all of a sudden it was everywhere the next day.

Vick will eventually get in trouble AGAIN and he will face a suspension from the commish

Surprised this story isn't getting more run. If Vick is actually invloved with this, I would find it absolutely disgusting. I would hope the commissioner would give him at least a year ban if he is involved. Anyone know any new news?

Well, yesterday it was reported that several "good friends" of Michael Vick told reporters that they were sure that Michael Vick was involved in the dog fighting ring, commenting something to the effect of Vick had long been fascinated by dog fighting. That doesn't sound too good for Vick. It's sounding more and more like he was involved.

It also once again shows Vick's absolute stupidity. Who needs enemies with "good friends" like that?

What is so fascinating about dog fighting?

The Sklar Twins (I think this is their name) from ESPN Classic's Cheap Seats were filling in for Jim Rome on Friday and had a hilarious take on this. They made the point that Vick isn't interested in the dog fighting itself, just the dog fighting culture. They then went on to compare it to Pac Man, who is mearly into the culture of strip clubs, not strip clubs themselves. Wish I could get a transcript so it would be funny, sorry.
