Its not the lawyers in the Vick case I'm really referring to. Plus, I guess its more about the judges, but they are just lawyers, too. So I guess I stand by my first statement.

But I do agree with you.

And 2 years for killing some danged dogs? Please!!!

Yes, Clinton, we understand that you don't understand why someone would be in trouble for killing "some danged dogs". Your prior interview made that fact crystal clear.

I understand he is in trouble and I think he should be, its just an excessive sentence in my opinion. I think 11months 29 days would have been fine with me, just think its odd its a felony to kill something that if I run over it on the road, no one thinks twice about it.

...And don't ever call me Clinton again!

Its also Ok to shoot them if they are badly injured or threatning of personal life and/or livestock. (I have had to put down my own animals myself before. Animals know whats about to happen on the ride to the vet)

I'm not saying what Vick did was ok, but getting a stronger sentence than people guilty of violent crimes against people is simplty ignorant.

The appropriate solution is to give more jail time to the people that commit violent crimes against people, not to give less time to people like Vick.

This is a case of devaluing human life. It happens all over the nation. If you hurt a innocent human you get a misdemeanor if you hurt an innocent animal it is a felony. I like animals and am very fond of my dog. But if it came down to the dog's life or just a human I didn't even know getting a minor injury, I would miss my dog. To do otherwise is unconscionable.

Are you serious? It's not that he had to kill the dogs, it's that due to what he put them through, they weren't strong enough so he killed them. Putting down an animal for a disease or a broken leg that will cause it serious troubles the rest of it's life is one thing. Putting the dog in a fight against another dog on purpose and having to put it down because it was injured is another.

The problem lies in how short a sentence the woman got for killing a person.

LOL! That was a reference to Clinton Portis, not Bill Clinton.

you also have to factor in that the woman did it one time. Vick killed many dogs. Or at least had them killed.

My point exactly! Shooting a human being once is not as bad as killing dogs multiple times?!

He should be serving time, that we agree. But putting an animal anywhere near that of the value of a human is wrong. She shoots a man and gets 7 months. He does horrible things to dogs and gets 23 months, loses his right to vote and own firearms.

again, i refer to my earlier statement, that instead of Vick getting less time, the woman should've gotten more time.

  1. Drink every time Ron Jaworski says the words "National Football League."
  2. Drink every time someone mentions the name "Michael Vick."
  3. Drink every time Tony Kornheiser makes a joke about the fact Chris Redman was out of football and selling insurance last year.
  4. Drink every time we see Arthur Blank dejectedly staring out to the field with one of those looks that says, "I hope Michael Vick is getting treated in prison right now like the Sistas treated Andy Dufresne. I really do."
Actually, just drink every time Jaws says the words "National Football League." You'll be passed out by the fourth quarter. Considering this game, that's a good thing.

i read this on another board.

I don't know as I have never seen you run. :p

But if you think an animals life has the same as a human being then you have a much different value system than I.

You said minor injury, not a human's life. In that scenario, I prefer the human get his minor injury and I'll keep my dog.

Also, depends on what human we're talking about before I go swapping lives for it with my dog.

Yes, I am serious. Thanks for asking. Did I say it was good what he did...no. Did I say he did not deserve any jailtime...no.

But all I have to say is that this following quote of yours is absoluty one of the silliest things I ever saw:

you also have to factor in that the woman did it one time. Vick killed many dogs. Or at least had them killed.

ARE YOU SERIOUS??? Its a man's life versus some dogs. What is the world coming to? Do we all get a "kill ONLY one man, get out of jail card" or something. Geez, this makes my argument.

If anybody else had been caught fighting dogs, they would have been slapped on the wrist.

You have those PETA idiots and the fact he's a celebrity athlete to thank fo Vick being sentenced to 23 months.

Killing dogs is cruel. The way he did it was terrible. You don't hang a dog or drown it, just shoot the damn thing.

But it is nowhere near as bad as killing someone.

Yeah, that was pretty horrible. Why did they do that? That makes me think they LIKE to torture the dogs, not just put them out of thier misery. Why did they not just shoot them? Maybe they live somewhere that gunshots always get the cops called. I don't know.

Well, this was an enlightening conversation. I'm going home now and pet my dog.
