Ah yeah, good for recruiting - great to know that UT has a coach that understands its important to be selling our whole program ALL THE TIME. So that each player, recruit and commit - and every program alum know that they are part of the chosen few.

It's hard to believe this progam has had 4 straight losing seasons. Watching these videos (and thanks OP for posting) leaves me scratching my head with all the resources and facilities UT has.

All the facilities in the world cannot make up for a lack of excellence in leadership (or talent).

Well, his poor coaching and poor recruiting pretty much sum it up for me. Throw in the Kiffin defection too if you like.

I don't think his recruiting was as bad as most people are now making it out to be. They're using it as a scapegoat. Dooley was able to recruit a ROOKIE All-pro receiver/kick returner to UT. Had the D not been awful in 2012 (it wasn't much better in 2013) Dooley would most likely still be the coach. Dooley and Sal (after 1 year) were fired. Butch and Jancek get a pass...and rightfully so.

UT has been a mess, going back to when (if not before) Fulmer got that last contract extension that over-rewarded him for mediocrity. Since then, it's been a trainwreck.

To quote Inky Johnson, "at the end of the day it boils down to who wants it the most." That is what makes a championship football player or team. You can throw all the money at facilities you want but "heart" wins football games and you can't buy it.

News flash brainiac: we haven't done **** since Fulmer was booted. You would think even with the ability to see how terrible we've done since Fulmer has been gone that you'd have the common sense to take your idiotic opinions that got us into this mess into hiding.

How long have you been around this program? I'm willing to bet you're in your 20's. I could be wrong.

I only responded to pepperjax mentioning Dooley...which was certainly part of the problem but not 100% of the problem. I think Hamilton was more of the issue than Dooley.

No doubt, but these videos come out every year, and every year we hope the hard work they put in the off-season pays off.

That was just one player man. Recruiting is the issue if he did a good job recruiting we wouldn't have to recruiting over every position on the team. We wouldn't have had walk-ons in the two deep. Dooley was a horrible coach and marginal recruiter.

Dooley was able to recruit some pieces here and there but overall, top to bottom, his recruiting classes were sorely lacking and he depended way too much on "diamonds in the rough," especially on the defensive side of the ball. He failed to recruit one single impact player on the defensive line or in the secondary. He also failed to recruit a dominant running back in the 3 years he was coach. It also remains to be seen if he recruited a quality QB while he was here.

Back on topic, and I apologize for helping to de-rail the purpose of this thread.

I hope the guys' efforts pay off this season.

I do think CPF relaxed and we lost out on or hit and missed big on several recruits that added to Hamilton hurt the program.

During that time we lost Coach Stucky in the weight room. Johnny Long never produced like his predecessor... That's a fact! We have had 3-4 strength coaches since CPF left.
