Violence after the game.

I don't want to hear crap about "college football is all business now and there's no school spirit."

I fully supported when Hooker (I think) insisted Nico drop for pushups after stepping on the T in the locker room. Respecting the logo is what WE DO, but expecting the intense rival team that just kicked our butt to respect it is laughable.

Don't lose and this won't be a problem. Lose and you deserve your logo stomped. It's symbolic. Think about stomping their logo next year or whenever.

All of the bitching about NIL and portals and commitment and business....... and something comes along that's about school spirit..... and here we are with the "that's too much emotion" crowd. Jeez.
Pant a flag while I'm on the field I'm kicking someone's ass.
Simple as that.

As I said, keep your head if you lose. Yeah, it's just a game of repeated collisions for 60 minutes and a helluva lot of sweat and sacrifice to get there.

I'm sorry you hate emotion. Fights and mixing it up ONE WEEK in the season at the biggest rivalries and your pearls are nearly fully stretched to the limit.

You'd not last 2 minutes in S America as a futbol fan.
LOL.

That's your self control, not the guys who just kicked your team's butt on your field. You'll start the brawl over symbols then want the high ground? Good luck with that.

To the victor belong the spoils. It's motivation not to lose. Keeping your head if you lose is discipline.

Michigan was invited to play a football game and started vandalizing the place. Keep your damn flag out of their field, you classless goons.

Honestly, the 100,000 fans at that game should be ashamed for not jumping in to protect their field. Don’t let the punks leave under their own will and the next smart asses who come visit will think again before disrespecting your state.
"Planting" a flag on artificial turf is vandalizing now and should be met with violence? Fans should "protect their field?" What??? It's just football man.

It’s a state name and logo they’re defacing. It’s no different than burning a flag. Tar and feather the punks.

The state logo of TN is the 3 star circle, not the T.
The state logo of OH is an outline of the state with Ohio in it.

Such ignorance.

You’re making up your own points to argue against. Whether or not that’s due to ignorance is unimportant.

It’s a trademarked logo that represents the state of TN. It’s the name “Tennessee” that’s important. It doesn’t matter what color it is or what shapes are in it. That’s some Special Ed. hairsplitting you’re doing.

There are so many wild giant leaps into absurd territory in just two pages of this thread.

To leap from end zone celebrations to flash planting as being equal is absurd.

But then we go the other way. Comparing flag planting to burning a flag. Just amaze balls

Newsflash: you're soft.

Let's the guys jump around, hold your anger about it until you kick their butt then dance on their logo.

It's not that crucial. It's good solid college team rivalry that's not worth punches.

Forgive me for not taking you seriously, but I’m blue collared and ornery as hell about people being disrespectful toward the people who fought for this land and the Volunteer nickname. If you think this has anything to do with football players, you’re not a grown man.

No. Silliness is calling yourself a Volunteer and not appreciating what the people who settled this state and who established your current rights fought for.

No 20 year old kid should get away with disrespecting that. You’d give it all away just for someone to tell you you’re having fun?

The people who started the University of Tennessee BEFORE STATEHOOD weren't soldiers but academics.

Good Lord. You do you but try to learn some history about your state.

Did they call it the University of Tennessee before we had statehood, wise ass?

Don’t quote me if you’re going to argue against someone else.

Blount, then East TN.

You sound like the kind of guy who'd climb a water tower to defend your sister's honor.

Whatever , so you're okay after a loss allowing the team you just fought, cussed etc to do whatever they feel is appropriate to celebrate on your field.
Plant their flag, take a piss, take a dump on the logo.
Okay, troll.
I'm done with you

It's a football rivalry. Get pissed, keep receipts, and when you beat them, return the favor.

Good grief. It's good solid and spirited college rivalry.

I don't have a problem with it. Particularly for these type of rivalry games. Every time FSU beats UF they carry around a gator head after the game, and every time they beat UF at the swamp they tear out some of the sod to bring back as "tradition". These are inflammatory actions also, ones that I can hardly describe as less inflammatory than the flag planting, so it tickles me to see FSU fans so upset over a flag. They've been babies ever since the "snub".

These teams had 60 minutes to keep that flag from being planted and didn't do it. Hate it for them but they had their chance.

If someone comes into Neyland and beats us, we should take the loss and let them celebrate the win. If you don't want it to happen, take care of business.
It was a 13-10 miserable display of football. The only flag that should have been planted was a white flag by both teams.

I'll admit to a big bias against tOSU because outside of sports they are one of the most arrogant student bodies/alumni in the country, worse than the Ivy schools IMO, so seeing them get humbled in any way made me happy.

Michigan Athletics is just useless without cheating. Ann Arbor is a collection of weird, ivory tower professors and students there to party their butts off.

The game was entertaining in exposing Ryan Day as a weak field coach..... again. I hope he keeps losing to MI and winning everywhere else in the B1G so their boosters can't figure out whether to fire him or not. He's not, even with a nearly unlimited NIL budget, a championship level coach.

Yeah, he's hard to figure. Only one regular season loss outside UM. And no wins against them.
