Ideally we have politicians who understand the constitution and pass laws within it's guidelines but since most politicians are lawyers they have about as much constitutional knowledge as a stump. We've all been told by our resident barristers that the constitution isn't required reading in law school.

I have never stated such a thing. I would freely admit that I do focus my practice on constitutional law, so I do not know it as well as some that do focus in that area.

No , it specifically says to uphold the constitution. The constitution specifically says ... shall not be infringed upon . Very simple , no reason to try and “interpret “basic English language.
