A computer could have scripted the bulk of this thread.

The two most populated sides need to step away from their fears and biases if we are to move forward. Find a place of stability between the two. Work from there.

You post as if there is something to negotiate. There isn't, there is no moving forward and no compromises to be had.

Serious question , how do you find common ground with one group that wants to take another’s group constitutional rights away when that side has nothing to offer but “ it’s the right thing to do “ ? In any compromise, by definition there must be give and take for a common solution to be reached . I hear a lot of one sided taking but no giving .

I'm a 2A absolutist and it has zero to do with hunting or protecting from a burglar. It's about keeping the government in check so they remember who they WORK for, the people. Any time the government gets too out of place, the people have the means to do something about it. Its not hard to be anti tyranny.

There’s a show on A&E now that is a police dog competition. There’s a part where they search a course for drug scented objects. It’s kind of comical how many times they hit on the wrong item.

I have yet to hear anyone here of the Pro-2A hardline be able to properly articulate the stance under which the de-escalationists are operating. In order to fully understand one's position, one must also grasp and respect the arguments of other side.

The contempt for "other" is a weakness, not a strength,

No it’s exactly what hog told you it was and if we’re happy with our rights as they are now why in the hell would we compromise to relinquish them? That’s just stupid. There are already too many unconstitutional limitations on the ownership of firearms. NFA1934 and GCA1968 should be immediately repealed and this BS tax stamp control means should be abolished ASAP.

Why do people care how many guns you buy a month? Plenty of nutters buy/use one gun to shoot people. Having 50 guns is pretty useless as you only have two hands. As for ammo, the media loves to say soneone has thousands of rounds when that can be accomplished with four 500 round .22 bricks. And since ammo doesn’t really go bad it’s smarter to buy in bulk to get better pricing. If I’m buying .45, 7.62 or .30 cal I’m not buying less than 500 rounds at a time.

When your opposition does not have a valid argument how can you grasp it?

This isn't hard and I can understand why some want to limit/restrict or even ban private ownership of firearms but they are going about it the wrong way. If they want to be listened to and negotiated with then go through the process to amend the constitution. Until they are ready to do that all of their attempts to strip 2A rights do not deserve to be considered or even listened to. Would you listen to and negotiate with a toddler that you told can only have desert after finishing their dinner?

No you’re just not listening. The pro 2A aren’t interested in “negotiating” any more rights away. The only thing I’m interested in is repealing most legislation already in place.
