What difference does it make if the SEC is the top dog? The better the SEC is the harder the rebuilding job is. If the SEC falls off to the level of the Big10, Big 12 or Pac 12 the top teams will still be considered among the elite.

Then we will suffer the Boise St effect. Undefeated looking a lower tier BCS bowl, never even going to NC game again.
Sorry SEC SEC SEC
And there's no glory in being at the bottom of it.
Exactly, everyone knows that. That's why coaches get fired after one bad season in this league. It's not easy to get to the top and even harder to stay there. UT has spent more time there than most and is on their way back. In the mean time, you've got to look at the level of competition we face each week and realize that a 12-0 season every year is not possible. Sure it would be great to play in the ACC and thump the Wake Forest's and Boston Colleges every week, I get that. But let's say UT jumped ship and climbed aboard the ACC. Recruiting drops, the amount of money the university brings in drops, and credibility drops. Recruits choose Tennessee over non SEC schools every day because UT is in the SEC. I'm not saying that you have to be for every SEC team when they play non SEC opponents, just realize how much different things would be if the Vols weren't apart of the most elite athletic conference on planet earth.
I want to hear from some of the Oregon posters on here. Do you guys sit around and cheer for Washngton or USC in OOC games, or is this pull for your conference rivals bullcrap strictly an SEC thing? I can't imagne that Ohio St fans are cheering for Michigan, or Texas fans for Oklahoma.

I guess it goes beyond the SEC. I just can't bring myself to pull for the teams that I truly hate. There are teams, especially in the west like LSU and Ole Miss who we don't have a heated rivalry with that I usually pull for in OOC games, but I never pull for Alabama, Florida, or Georgia. I also want Vandy to lose every game they play by at least a 50 point margin.LOL, that's a tough one. I'll pull for all of the teams in the PAC-12 to win their OOC games. Simply because conference strength impacts SOS for the Ducks. And that can have an impact on Oregon's rankings and what bowl they might get.
As for U$C, Oregon fans really don't have that much of an issue with the condums. USC fans are a bit like Michigan fans, they think they have dominated EVERYONE. What's fun is to remind them that over the last 20 years they have a losing record against the Ducks.
When it comes to Washington, it's going to be tough pulling for them in any situation. Sure I'll pull for them to Beat Boise Community College this year, just because Bronco fans are worse jerks than the tail draggers from Seattle. But I wouldn't tell anyone I pulled for them. Best part of that game is one of the two is going to lose. Now that makes me happy.
I don't think PAC-12 fans are nearly as "pro conference" in a loud way as SEC fans are. I will say that given the loud SEC chants in OOC games, don't be surprise to hear "PAC-12" chants in Eugene should Oregon dominate the game.
