Virginia Tech's Entrance Last Night

VT's entrance is exciting, but overrated. It did look cool on TV to see all their fans get extremely pumped up as soon as they heard the song start.

I'd still take Clemson's entrance. I also like Michigan's entrance a lot because of the fight song.

i've been to plenty of VT games in my life and I agree, I think the enterance to a overplayed 90s song that never was that good in the first place is just rediculous considering college football should be about tradition and pagentry,...If any of you went to any games in the early 90s there I personally thought their enterance before that song was much better and in line with the traditions of virgina tech football. they have two bands and both band were on the field at the same time when the team came out...this is more in line with what you expect to see with the over-comercialization of pro football than what you should expect from a school that claims to have all the tradition of the big boys in college football. Id love to see them go back to their pre-1998 entrance and bring back the tradition adn pagentry, not just hopping up and down to a song that has been out of date for a decade.

I give their fans credit where credit is due, regardless of how played out that song might be.

No fanbase in the SEC gets that jacked up just before their team runs on the field.

Hate to be a wet blanket, but it is not how you enter the game,, it is how you leave the game that counts. I would like us to be the best exiters in college football.

Yes I have, several times in fact....and you're right.

As far as consistent crowd noise goes, Auburn is right up there with UF and LSU. Great atmosphere up there.

You've got to like the Tech fans' enthusiasm. It's just that "Enter Sandman" has become about the most hackneyed sports entrance music there is. It's hard to give VPI much credit for having a great entrance when it's so generic.
