Hardcore porn shouldn't be free and easily accessible (probably wishful thinking in this time of the internet) because it demeans the sex act (we are more than animals, aren't we?). Making money in this way should be limited above and beyond the exploitation issues that have come to light about pornhub. Softcore/booty pics I have less of a problem with, but still dont think people should be putting it out there like that for everyone's viewing, um, pleasure.

What is your issue with hardcore porn being free?

What is your issue with hardcore porn being free?

Just what I said in my original post. Basically, I think its damaging to the psyche and immoral. But I'm more neutral on porn consumption than I probably come across. It's an industry with some problems that are the subject of this thread and spoken about already, but if you want to watch despite all that, it's your business as far as I'm concerned.

No. Something like a mandatory credit card on file that just charges a dollar.


This would force a person to atleast have a cc which means they are probably over 18.

The site must show us porgraphy on card so a parent would know if they used the card without the parenting knowing.

I grew up thinking I was addicted to porn because everybody in my church group perpetuated the idea that it is extremely addictive and destructive and all that. I was constantly feeling shame, which made me think about porn, which made it so I couldn't get it off my mind, which led to my watching more. It was every day, multiple times for a while. Cue Keanu: "that's what little dudes do."

I stopped being religious around the time I got married, but it was still this thing that brought me shame, first because I was still somewhat beholden to the ideas I grew up with, but second, because I was hiding it from my wife. I told my wife about it soon thereafter and she didn't care. She watches porn sometimes now, too. It's really not that big of a deal. I was completely over the shame element and I have never felt addicted since. I could have 3 days in a row where I watch porn and then I can go the next week without and I won't even notice that I haven't been watching. What happened to my addiction?

There's no way to avoid that, even if your morality is some crowley-esque "do what thou wilt..." situation.

Or it will just push free activity off sites that are trying to be responsible onto more nefarious sites that don't give a **** about this proposed regulation.
