Visa and MC Block Pornhub Payments

They do.

But if the company places a stop gap in the site then kids who have chit parents are still protected.

There has to be some level of protection for kids.

Or are you also totally ok with a 9 year old sleeping with a 60 year old if the parents allow it?

Cause that's the slippery slope you go down when you want to treat kids exactly like adults.
Yup. Sexual predators only exist due to internet porn. Great slippery slope argument. We should probably blow it all up, or do you not care about the kids?

200% different situations. Not even comparable.

But what about the kids hog? What about the kids?

The righties are killing grandmas refusing to wear masks, and the lefties are raping kids by not implementing more government.

Where did I say government?

Show me the post.

I simply want the same stop gaps that a gambling site would have for porn sites.

That's it.

They use credit cards on most sites to help age verify.
whoa now, I don't need Fluggaenkoechiebolsen/comercialgradesexmachines.com showing up on the CC for the wife to see.

Only different because you feel this way.

Both are illegal for kids to do.

Try selling a porn movie to a 9 year old and see how fast you get slapped with charges.

It's called "involved parents"

See this is where you all lose this debate quickly.

Based on this there should be no protections for kids and it should just be involved parenting.

Pedophilia should be legal and just up to parenting.

Underage drinking should be legal and just up to parenting

Underage smoking should be legal and just up to parenting.

You can't pick and choose what things that are illegal should be allowed and just up to parenting.

Showing and sell pornography to a kid is a federal crime. Go show a 9 year old a nude pick and see how fast you are put on a child predators list.

When I suggest that involved parenting is the best answer here, in no way am I suggesting that it's always the best answer.

Or it will just push free activity off sites that are trying to be responsible onto more nefarious sites that don't give a **** about this proposed regulation.
But you have to be willing to accept more hacking/malware risk when you leave the mainstream internet, which would force people to be more deliberate about what they're doing.

You went down a stupid trail no offense.
You were the one linking porn to 60 year olds banging 9 year olds.

Generally it's best to avoid comparisons of two subjects on different sides of legality.

You might as well be arguing that Rx drugs leads to gang bangers selling crack to school kids.

Yeah, the prospect of that is definitely not going to stop a horny 14 YO. ****, when I was a teenager, we'd just get it from chat rooms and other users were sending us files to freaking download blindly. Not only is this a security/malware issue that we weren't afraid of, but there was basically no accountability and you would stumble across messed up snuff that you would likely never see on pornhub.

You can't just pass a rule and get the outcome you want. These problems are very complicated and "make it harder to get porn from legit sites" is not going to deliver results.

Why you think pornhub is in hot water right now?

Revenge porn, underage porn, and trafficking.

So the link is clearly there.

And doctors get in trouble for bad scripts. So the link is there.

When pornhub gets in trouble due to bad scripts let me know.

Currently though its revenge porn, trafficking, under age videos.

Limiting access to 18 and up would fix their current legal issues. If they don't get fixed or better self regulated the feds will eventually step in and that is never a good thing.

I am keeping this in the context of their current legal issues.

It's not so much about stopping as it is making them think a about it a little. Porn is too prevalent and we're too networked to just turn it off, but if you were forced to face the seedy stuff and deal with malware when you were looking at it, it might make you think twice about what you were doing and question whether it was right. And people changing their minds on their own is really the only way.

Also, you and the posters are a little too OCD about me wanting to accomplish this with new regs or a government agency or something. All I'm saying is it should be harder to access than it is.
