We grew up in Tenn. His life long dream is to play there. Wish him luck. He checks in tomorrow....

Ok, I thought I would give you guys the feel I got from the coaching staff today.

When we got there to sign in my nephew several coaches were walking aroung and talking to the kids, CJC, CDW, CCS, CLT and others.

CJC was a blast and CCS is a great guy, talked to him several times during the day.

Once the kids had all done there skills test, the nice guys were gone :) and they pushed these kids on the first day. Every coach was out there and there was no question who the guy in charge was, CDD.

I seen him go to every group and if he seen a kid with bad technique, he had no problem stopping them and showing them how, even seen it on the big OL.

This staff had a lot of energy all day, and they push the kids to give more than a high scool effort. CCS even hade one group do a sprint because the did not break it down like a UT team should.

I have seen my share of coaching staffs and I was impressed. I was even more impressed that this is how they were with high school kids at a camp.JMO

Some guys will only camp one or two days at UT. Too many camps are going on these next two weeks to spend 4 days at UT and some guys want to see as many programs as possible, particularly the guys with multiple offers. UT has a per session fee for those kids and there are at least two sessions per day, so in theory, some kids could be there for just half a day.

Sounds correct. Would imagine the dates are conflicting for many kids. Forced to make decisions on where to attend. I know many JR days were on the same day. Crazy to think a decision on where to camp can drastically impact their futures.

Partly true....although it spans 4 days, it is more like 2.5:
Sunday: Sign in and testing until 3pm. Drills until 8pm
Monday: Full day of drills until 8pm
Tuesday: Full day of drills unti 8pm
Wednesday: 9-11am at Neyland having fun

What are the rules on players paying for summer camps?

Some of the players we recruit don't come from the most financially privileged situations. If there's a player with a ton of offers and who wants to attend several camps in a summer, does his family just have to find a way to come up with a couple hundred dollars?

I'm gonna go out on a limb and assume he can't find a booster who will subsidize his summer camp

If we're going to take a FB this year, Goff would be a solid pick up. Scout shows him with a few offers already.

Do a GOOGLE search for two years ago when Bryce Brown and others had fundraisers for their excursions out to Oregon and what not...

Nice pics Thanks for sharing. Lets us know what you think of the staff.

From registration, the staff was incredible. All of them were awesome in the way they had it organized. Very timely and quick paced. Smith and Dooley stood out completely. Dooley spent a lot of time working with the kids and was there the entire day. Up close and personal and excited in working with the kids. Chuck Smith...what can be said about a guy that loves UT and his position like him. You could hear it in his talk and the way he motivated. My son and wife spent at least 20 minutes with him chatting away. I actually had to drag my son away to get him registered...lol. The feel the entire day was high energy. It also seemed some of these kids thought they were there taking a field trip...all the coaches set them straight right away...it was really awesome.

I will post more pics and insight Monday night...

And he was....every group, all over the fields. During warm-ups, dinner, practice, drills....hell, I think he tucked my son in bed tonight and read him a story....lol

VolAmerican. Great pics and insight. If you'd be so kind as to take a few shots of Goff for me, I'd be greatly appreciative. Hell be with the FB/RB/LBs. Stalky, likely in a purple or white helmet. Thanks much in advance.

In your opinion, does your son have a chance at an offer, or just there for the experience?
