Visitors for the Weekend of Jan. 15th

Any predictions on how we close this thing out?

Just a guess. The first 3 guys I think are almost locks. And I really like where we stand with the 4th and 5th guys at this moment...

Chaz Green
John Cullen
Blake Sims
Nickell Robey
Damien Robinson

I think we turn Robey. But if UGA hires Smart that could hurt. It's really untelling what's gonna happen when we get guys like DaRick, Nelson, Dorsey, Coleman, Stone, Wilson, Arie, etc on campus...

There are so many variables too. Like Rajaan Bennett. What do they do with him? I mean, he seems pretty important if Kiffin went personally to his school to see him a month before NSD. Do we even take Robinson? Do we really push someone else out of this class? January is when Kiffin really made his move last year, and if this week is any indication of what's to come, this January is going to go the same way and it's pointless to try to predict it haha. For example, if you would asked me last week at this time if we get Sims, Willis, and Dixon, I woulda said no on the first 2 and believed we had a shot with Dixon if he would come back for a visit. A week later, 2 of them are Vols and the other one is probably a Vol behind closed doors, not to mention securing a visit (and legit interest) with Dawgs prize recruit...

What about Pair? We seem to be in it for quite a few lineman and he seems like the biggest project out of the guys we currently have.

I could see us pushing Pair out. He would be the most likely. I think they like him quite a bit, but when you have (possibly) Chaz, JaWuan, and Cullen coming in as OTs and have Douglas and Thomas as sophs and Schofield as a freshman, I'm not sure you use a scholly on a project like Pair if you don't think he can play soon especially when that scholly can go to an extra DB (Loften), LB (Swilling), or a RB (Bennett). And make no mistake, Pair is a OT; he can't play guard...

Why can't he play guard?

I wish we had 6 more spots. And offering Matt Simms a scholly instead of making him a priority walk-on hurts. No matter what any of you say, I firmly believe he still would've come in that situation.

I thought the number was 27 or 28. Why did you think 30?

Its really confusing but I think the 28 limit is per recruiting class but we can back count 2 to last year's class thus 30 if I understand everything.

Pair just isn't a guard. He's small. OT all the way and has great upside. But do you wait on that upside? I think he stays a Vol. But if we "push" one out, he would be my guess...

Yes, Green, Sims, and Cullen are look almost like locks...

Back-counting. I haven't paid attention lately to the number anyway. I read 30 a long time ago. I'd say you're correct with 28 now that I think about it. Then again, how the hell is Auburn going to allegedly take 33?

Someone did the actual step by step math on here a while ago, but I cant recall in which thread.

I think 27 is the SEC limit...and we can backcount 1 for James Green, I think.

Maybe I am misunderstanding though.

LV, I notice that you only named five guys there. I was under the assumption we'd probably take 30 guys?

The 5 I named are the ones I believe we sit good with right now. Just a snapshot at this point in time. Not a prediction cuz that would be pointless and things are going to change big time...

We can sign 30, but we can only have 27 new recruits on the roster in August. And it is starting to sound more and more like we are only going to take guys who can qualify so that would mean 27...

We need to take Arie K. If we do that gives us a shoe in for his brother next year who will be highly touted as well. I assume we'd probably take 2-3 OL next year, and we could get a head start on that

The number appears to be 28, per the SEC rule (from various other threads on the SEC Talk board).

I haven't seen D. Riley's name mentioned lately either. Are we even going after him very hard since we have Dixon committed and so few slots remaining?

LV, are we still getting a visit from Quarles? I think he said he would visit on the 22nd. I know that doesn't guarantee anything with him skipping his first 2, but it would be big to get him on campus.

He said this week that he is visiting in January. I don't think he has set it up yet. But whether he actually shows up is another question altogether...

It was nice to see him and Jacques setting on the bench together at the Army game...:whistling:

What about Lemonier? Do we still have a chance with him as well?

This was from Smith per Volquest...

"It feels good. I feel like we still should have got some more players. I think they're just a little bit scared of the change (of commitments)."

Holy Cow! M Pair ends up getting dropped and all those who vehemently disagreed with me on him will hear the Ha Ha laugh from the Simpsons.

We have 20 left and around 11 will be used next weekend which leaves us with 9 this month. It looks like we are going to need all of them.

So we have 20 total Official Visits we can have this month before we are maxed out. This plays in since we had 10 on the 15th plus Prater and a few more the other weekends. Anyone know of a total count expected so far? Thanks for this thread LV.
