Vitello deserves to be in the same breath as Neyland and Summitt

Look, I love TV and feel we have, easily, the best baseball coach in the nation. But, if you were around for the Summitt years, you really wouldn't put those two in the same breath, at least not in the near future.

Pat won eight, eight, national championships and was close to winning 2 or 3 more. Vitello built a program from nothing. Summitt built a sport from nothing. She is, without a doubt, the best coach I've ever seen in my 40+ years of Vol fandom. She may even be the best coach in any college sport in that period.

TV has a lot of road to go to get to this status, but the good news is he is going to win more than just the one he got last night and he's only in his mid-40s. He will be on the Mount Rushmore of UT sports before he leaves this place.

He’s heading in the right direction, Neyland and Summitt‘s body of work encompasses decades of winning and developing athletes. If Coach TV keeps it up, the baseball stadium will be named after him or maybe the field and he’ll most likely have a statue in front of the stadium.
