This shows the difference between UT and UA. Suspended by the school for violations, McCollough suspended for defending his apartment. Basketball star brings a gun to a drunk friend where it is used in a murder, football player hits a girl and no accountability. Only excuses for their actions.
And as a side note, I imagine a large number of players who enter the portal have been contacted by their transfer destination before they entered the portal. Especially when you see athlets enter the portal on Monday and commit to their new school on Tuesday.

I cannot like that. Good grief. Taking out a coach for a scheduled and imminent game is the stupidest penalty they can issue. It hurts the athletes and fans the most. Meet after the weekend, pay the fine, resolve this and move on. I am just so tired of the "powers at be" in collegiate sports. Pro sports already trashed and all about the money...billions of dollars money.

So, here’s a multiple choice question for y’all. Which one of the following incidents is punished:

A. Player delivers gun upon request that is used to murder a young mother.
B. Player assaults a female fan who is storming the field after a big win.
C. Team pays ~ $10 million to buy a baseball squad.
D. (Worst case scenario): Coach has contact with a player before he is officially in the portal.

Apparently in the world we currently live in, the correct answer is D

Ludicrous!

P.S. if TV is taking the blame and accepting punishment so that Maui can be cleared sooner, then I applaud him!

If this suspension isn’t the end of this entire ordeal on Monday, I’ll be so disappointed in our AD. Fight for your freaking coach and program. Feels like we bend over for the NCAA all the time. They are a toothless organization. I’m hoping this is the beginning of the end of all this, because if not….

F-ing Bruce Pearl all over again. If UT lets this happen....well...you might as well just level the entire athletic department and forget sports at Tennessee. This is so damned ridiculous. Sometimes I wish I'd never attended the University of Tennessee. Today is one of those days. I'm just sick of our weak athletic department. You can just see it coming. UT won't stand up for Vitello. He gets pissed and resigns. I'll bet a dollar to doughnuts he ends up at another SEC program just like Pearl did. Did I say I'm sick of the whole damned department? Yeah, I'm assuming the worst and it's not happened yet, but my gawd, how much NCAA boot licking is enough?

Agree. UT bends the knee like no other while others tell the NCAA to eff off. I bet CTV is pissed over the suspension and the whole situation. I could see him leaving one day due to admin ******** at UT if the right job came calling.
