A few reasons to help y'all stop freaking out:

1. Danny White.
We need national attention and successful athletic programs for him to be successful as well. He has the free range to spend like he wants to make that happen, that's most of the reason he came here anyway. Not many places have the funding to be successful and the desire as well.

2. Vitello.
He is actually a loyal man and he knows what he's doing. He's invested in these guys and they're invested in him. He's building a national power here. He doesn't need to ride someone else's coattails.

3. Knoxville.
Have any of y'all been to these different campuses and cities? Knoxville and the surrounding area is far, and I mean way farther better bestest, than the other places. Where else can you have a town and people like Knoxville, then drive to a rainforest on your days off to relax?

4. He's already said so.
He won't leave if things are done how they should be, and they will be, see #1.

5. Check

Damn
stats
if you don't believe me.

1. He cant repair 20 years of neglecting baseball in 6 months. LSU is ready made for success.

2. Money and facilities talk. If he was so loyal he wouldn't have left TCU for a lateral job at Arkansas.

3. Knoxville is a better town than Baton Rouge.. But our baseball complex isn't

4. again, money talks.

You might actually be more of a Nega-Vol than Bruin, and that is saying something. Congratulations.

Reasons 1,2, and 4 are already being offered to TV. It depends on if he wants to wait for the facilities to be constructed which could take some time.

So, essentially, the only thing I'm gathering is that there is "interest" on Vitello's side, but nothing actually concrete or concerning. So, nothing actually new just some recycled narratives to continue driving clicks during a very dry period of the year for 247 and Rivals with no football.

I'm sure there is "interest" on Vitello's part, but it could simply be leverage to get a better offer here at Tennessee. Again, if you want to choose doom & gloom as your preferred mood, go for it. But, just remember it is exceedingly rare for any SEC coach to leave for another SEC program. It hasn't happened since 2005 in baseball, and rarely happens in other sports as well.

Chill. It's all going to work out.

If he did go to LSU, with the money and facility upgrades being floated, I think another good coach can be had. I would think Godwin, Scott Jackson, Chris Finwood, Robert Woodard, and potentially some P5 coaches would be interested.

Hopefully we do not have to find out.

Rebuttal:

2. Loyalty doesn’t exist at the Assistant Coach ranks. He was building his career and went where he felt his future career path would be maximized. It was.

4. Money talks but it talks differently in different places. Whats the state income tax in Louisiana? TN could pay less and TV still make more in Knoxville.

Any chance LSU would re-name their field from "Skip Bertman Field" to "Tony Vitello Field"?

Me, personally? I kinda doubt it. Not w/out him winning more than 5 CWS there, anyway. And, we all know how hard it is to win ONE these days.

Here at UT he can build a legacy that will stand for a loooooong time. As long as the admin here doesn't straight up **** on the program (and he, himself, doesn't do something completely beyond the pale & get canned) he's got the chance to be a straight-up TN legend. If the program stays on the track it's on they'll be naming stuff after him left and right.

Can't do that at LSU. Never mind the corn-doggers expectations that would DEMAND a CWS win within the first 5 years.

Yes, money IS important but once you've got enough, you've got enough. The intangibles here far outweigh the risk he'd incur by leaving. Especially now.

TV doesn't strike me as a "You'll pay me $1 more? See ya TN!" kinda guy.
