VN Baseball Coaching Search 2011

I thought Simcox had some kind of training buisness in Knoxville and was out of coaching?

Per Rogers:

It's going to take a year or two for Serrano to change the culture at #Tennessee. That team was horrible fundamentally.

per Haney:

Tennessee's baseball program was about to vault, whether it hired Holbrook or Serrano. Can't misses either way. SEC just got tougher (again)

per Rogers:

#tennesee has made the hiring of #Fullerton coach Dave Serrano official. That qualifies as a slam-dunk hire for the #vols #sec #bigwest

It seems to get more crowded every year. What area are you staying in? Were staying on old 98 past Pompano Joes.

Same area... Seascape Resort

It does get more crowded, but it's a lot calmer than when came down in March during the Spring Break time.

I`m telling you...we missed out when we didn`t hire Coach Chad Holbrook. He is awesome!!!

Certainly would have saved a lot of grief lol. We didn't not hire him he decided to stay, at least as far as I know. Would have been a bit riskier and he might have left when the SC job or NC job opened up, but the next guy would've had a lot of good baseball players to work with, no doubt about it. Great recruiter, infact heard a rumor he left UT and went to the Border War showcase on the way home.

One other thing, Holbrook was already making more than Serrano as an Associate HC, and he's gonna get a raise. It would've taken more money to get him than Serrano got if what was posted on his contract is true. I believe he would have been looking for Tanner money.

As this thread goes off to die. I'd like to thank UT for hiring a Proven winner and a great search. Thanks for taking a chance on a proven coach, that might not have everything, but has what counts to do the job.

Finally ...Kendall Rogers was right on EVERYTHING. Much respect.
