Are you so bored that you are intentionally trying to get me riled up? :dunno:

I have never seen you mention liking Nascar that is why I thought you didn't like it. Who is your favorite driver? Please don't make me lose respect for you and say Jeffy. :(

I really don't have an allegiance. I actually like Gordon, but I wouldn't say he's my favorite. I tend to be partial to the guys who just can flat out drive like Mark Martin. I also have drivers that I can't stand like Tony Stewart and Kurt Busch.

What is it that you like about Jeffy? Do you like him just because he has 4 championships, his driving skills, his personality (or lack of), the way he doesn't give other drivers a chance before taking them out, why nothing is ever his fault?

Mark Martin is ok, but here lately he has been just as whiny as Jeffy. I don't like the way he let's drivers by him instead of racing them. No wonder he hasn't won any championships. I feel like it's his own fault. He is really good in the Busch & Truck Series, so maybe he needs to retire from Cup after this year and focus on one or both of those.

I LOVE Tony Stewart. He can race in anything. I have watched him race in a Super Late Model on dirt and he really is amazing. I love his attitude. He doesn't take any crap from anyone.

Kurt Busch....there are days that I can't stand him and then there are days when I like him. I guess it just depends on whether he is putting down a driver I like or not, like Harvick. He is messing with fire when he says anything bad about Harvick. LOL He is a good driver though.

I think it's because the 'necks all hate him. :D (Not a shot at you.)

The thing I hate about NASCAR is the way some of the fans want to turn everything into a soap opera. It's hot metal moving at 190 mph . . . stuff happens.

Hey now, there isn't anything wrong with rednecks!

Nascar has definately turned into a soap opera. It's more about the entertainment than the racing. The sponsors and commercials are more important than the racing anymore. :dunno:

I can honestly say I have followed Jeff for years. It seems with your Nascar knowledge Jenn, you would at least respect what he's done. I mean, I dislike Steve Spurrier but still respect what he has done. :dunno:

I had a little respect for Jeffy's driving back in the day, but the past few years all he has done is wreck people and get away with it. Nascar will punish other drivers for doing the same things he does without punishment. I blame Nascar more than him. They have turned Jeffy into an ego inflated monster. I have never liked Jeffy as a person. He is too conceited and full of himself. I have never said that Jeffy isn't a good driver, because he is as long as he is focused on the racing instead of trying to hog the cameras. His championships and records speak for themselves.

I have the same opinions about Spurrier. I cannot stand his whiny, cry baby, temper tantrum fits, but I cannot deny what a great coach he is.

I can't disagree with you about Nascar's over-promotion of him, but like you said, that's not all his fault.

read this trash. always stereotping nascar fans.

NASCAR outraged by 'Dateline' racial story approach: NASCAR said it was "outrageous" that "Dateline NBC" targeted one of its race tracks last weekend for a possible segment on anti-Muslim sentiment in the United States. NASCAR said NBC confirmed it was sending Muslim-looking men to a race, along with a camera crew to film fans' reactions. The NBC crew was "apparently on site in Martinsville, Va., walked around and no one bothered them," NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston said Wednesday. "It is outrageous that a news organization of NBC's stature would stoop to the level of going out to create news instead of reporting news," Poston said. "Any legitimate journalist in America should be embarrassed by this stunt. The obvious intent by NBC was to evoke reaction, and we are confident our fans won't take the bait," he said. NASCAR is in the final year of a broadcasting agreement with NBC Sports. "'Dateline' is looking into this story," NBC said in a statement. "We were intrigued by the results of a recent Washington Post/ABC News poll and other articles regarding increasing anti-Muslim sentiments in the United States. "It's very early on in our newsgathering process, but be assured we will be visiting a number of locations across the country and are confident that our reporting team is pursuing this story in a fair manner," it said.(ESPN.com/AP)(4-6-2006
I wish Nascar would refuse to allow them to broadcast the races THIS year. They don't deserve to carry any more races after a stunt like that. NBC SUCKS

u know what is funny? if they would have dressed ppl up as jeff gordon instead of arabs then the nascar fans would have gave them what they wanted. :eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol: :eek:lol:

i got to 4 races each year and let me tell u this. no one gives a damn who is there watching the race. it is a party and a good time and racism does not play a part in the race.

nascar fans arent dumb, tootless idiots who bed their sister. they are probably the best acting and disciplined in all of sports. look at the philly fans or those morons in europe who actually try and kill the refs and players.

COME ON NBC. SURELY U CAN COME UP WITH SOMETHING BETTER THAN THIS. :nono:

:lolabove: Probably true.

It's pathetic when the media goes into a situation blatantly trying to produce a preconceived outcome.

Big Plans by ESPN MORE later times: ESPN plans to pull out all the bells and whistles when NASCAR returns to the cable sports network in 2007. "ESPN has really morphed or grown since we were last in the sport," said ESPN president George Bodenheimer, who was at Texas on Sunday. "We're really considered a multimedia network now. We're looking to take this property and blow it out, if you will." The network will offer plenty of coverage in studio shows, analysis and a heavy online presence. Much of it has yet to be formalized, said Bodenheimer, also president of ABC Sports. ESPN and ABC will broadcast 17 Cup races beginning in 2007, the first year of an eight-year contract the networks signed with NASCAR. ABC was one of the first networks to televise stock car racing in the 1960s, and ESPN introduced flag-to-flag race telecasts in the 1980s. The network was NASCAR's leading carrier through the 1990s, but has not aired a race since 2000, when it lost the rights to NBC and Fox. Bodenheimer said the return of NASCAR to ESPN marks an emotional reunion after both grew to national prominence.(ESPN.com/AP)
AND ABC Sports/ ESPN president George Bodenheimer, whose networks return to the mix of televising NASCAR events for the first time in six years next season, said he prefers late afternoon starting times for Sunday Nextel Cup events in 2007. "Generally we're looking to televise the sport when we can attract the highest ratings that we can," Bodenheimer said.(Atlanta Journal-Constitution)(4-10-2006

New Bumper at 'Dega: Teams will have a new bumper configuration for the Talladega race later this month that is intended to reduce the amount of bump drafting. Drivers complained about bump drafting at Daytona. Bump drafting is where the trailing car rams the rear end of the leading car to help them push forward. It's an accepted practice in the straightaways, but when done in the corners it can lead to an accident. While the new rule reduces the strength of the bumpers, opinion is mixed if the rule change will make a difference. The new rule forces teams to remove steel plates underneath the bumper. NASCAR wanted to maintain the bumper strength for safety but not make it so strong that drivers used it to constantly bump draft.(Roanoke Tines)(4-9-2006)

Why not just make every race a frickin' night race? Christ... have the races going by 12 or 12:30 at least. I like to have a little day left after the races are over.
