Well, from what I've been reading and hearing, he won't be an exciting RB because he most likely won't play that position. Where else would he be able to make as exciting plays if he wasn't RB. The only other place that he would have a chance would be WR and they don't usually touch the ball too many times in games.

yea lets just forget about him, he's not gonna be of any significance for the vols in the future so he isnt relevant... so how do we win our games this season?, i mean do we run the ball a lot or does Ainge fling for 300 a game, or does the threesome of Jones, O'neal and Vinson become a force to be reckoned with?

yea but were u even a sam mcduffie? lol

No but just because they were the same size doesn't mean anything. For being so in love with this guy, you could have atleast spelled his name right.
This guy is an amazing high school RB but that doesn't mean he will be even a great college player. I think he will do okay, but to compare him to Reggie Bush is insane and just stupid. He might not even play RB in college, he could likely wind up at WR or DB.

ok forget about statistics ok, just throw every number that you have collected on bush out the window, awards and everything... as a matter of fact i want u to put all of those stats in a treasure box with a time bomb in it, drive ur car to the nearest mountain and drop it with about 4 seconds left on the bomber...... ok and after u do that, look at mcguffie and tell me that he is not an exciting player as reggie bush was when he came out of high school, and also look a little closer to the way he runs and sets his blocks up and sees things before they happen and accelerates in the open field, and then tell me that he doesnt have great instincts and spped, and then look at the way he jumped over the defender and the way that he doesnt shy away from a defender, and tell me he doesnt have courage... now that u dont have the stats and we see that mcguffie makes amazingly exciting plays constantly, has great instincts and speed, and has even better courage, tell me how he is any different from reggie bush coming out of high school?

UT recruited a running back a few years ago whose highlight reel was so amazing that the players at the Big Orange Banquet called for a reshowing. Apparently that is the only time the highlights were shown twice for one player. He was expected to be a superstar. He never saw the field. I think he transferred to Villanova and was a 3rd-stringer. High school superheroes are a dime a dozen.

I agree but watching that mixtape does something to you, if you're a man of football. Me and some friends are thinking about swinging down to Texas to see Mcguffie play in October.

Sawtelle will get a plenty of chance to play after Eric Young. He will be our next best OL man.

McNeil is the best OL on the team. Young may not even be second. Last time I saw measurements, Sawtelle needed to add about 50-60 lbs to play in the SEC.

True. Carl Pickens was a great HS and Vol receiver. The coaches called him one of the best athletes they'd ever had... but he wasn't even close to as good as a back that went through his HS a few years earlier named Colbert. The guy was a RB at 6'2", 215 lbs. He ran for over 400 yards in one game against a team that wasn't a roll over. For the time, he was a freakish talent.

About the same time, a white kid in a neighboring town that ran sub 4.4 and benched over 400 lbs at 5'10" was racking up yardage also.

The first guy never played a down of college fb. He spent a couple of years in the Cubs farm system then washed out. The second guy played at WCU for a couple of years then quit to work pulling high power lines.

I hope McGuffie makes it big. But he needs to get bigger.

BTW, you're right about jumping people. He'd better break that habit before it breaks him.

Sorry. Boned that one. I was thinking of Cody Pope.

Still don't think Sawtelle will be the #2 OL or that Young will be #1.
