Vol Season Ticket Holders Reflect Reality of Upcoming Season

The generation you are referring to is more hip to saving money in the secondary ticket market.

People of all ages are also tired of paying premium prices for a home schedule where 5 of the home games are against 3 cupcakes, mizzou, and ky.

What's the strongest OoC opponent FL has hosted in the past 20 years? App St?

I wasn't taking a shot at Tennessee.

The pattern for most all schools is one quality ooc game and 3 cupcakes.

The funny part about your question is this year Florida has one of the tougher ooc schedules in the country.

There's Miami and FSU. And Toledo is not your normal laugher

And if they go to nine conference games we won't even get that one good ooc game

Touché. I was thinking someone not on the annual rotation though. When was the last time they left their state for a regular season OoC game.

Why would they do that though when every year they have a neutral site game with uga and FSU built into the back of the schedule? They don't need the SOS and they don't need exposure for recruiting purposes.

Wasn't Florida listed as having the 2nd easiest OOC by ESPN?

Read the T-FP article, it states attendance has declined conference wide for four consecutive years. There are a lot of factors impacting those numbers.

The T-FP won the AP award for the best sports writing by a Tennessee news paper, check the site daily.

Vols have a few cupcakes on their schedule but nothing is easy w/: @ oregon, florida, and bama w/ UGA and USCjr @ home. All five teams will be on preseason too 10-15.

Bama and Oegon top 3.

Ticket Sales are low everywhere around the country, Its because of the quality of game you can watch on TV.

Except of course in Alabama.. Where them picture boxes is scary magic, so they still need to go to the game.

Having the same attendance issues in theNFL. Games may have been "sold out" but a ton of no-shows. Even the Steelers had open seats last couple of seasons.

Bingo! Some people think you should have the ''pinball machine attitude," back your a$$ up to the wall and challenge the world.

Well with the last few years under Fulmer, then Kiffin and Dooley what do you expect.

I have to admit, it really has just taken something out of me. The second half of the Florida game last year, then having to watch the rest of the season in stunned disbelief, was the final straw. I'm not excited about the upcoming season at all; put me squarely in the "show me" camp.

That said, I'll continue to go to games when I can. The main reason I have never had season tickets is that my work schedule doesn't allow me to go to all the games.

Like many others, I don't enjoy the cupcake games too much. Seatback chairs would be a big improvement; I know my wife would want to go more often if we could get those.

I'm not sure I buy the whole HDTV argument; there's no substitute for the experience of being there. It's the cost plus all the losing that's killing UT right now.
