Vol uniform/helmet design discussion (merged)

Let's have a uniform analysis of the BCS national champions, for those making the case that fancy uniforms bring big results.

2010: Auburn- a classic look by Under Armour.
2009: Alabama- while they did use the silly pro-combat uniform, it was basically the same
as their regular uniform. A timeless classic.
2008: Florida- Pre pro-combat, most extreme variation was that ugly one-sleeve thing.
2007: LSU- my favorite non-UT uniform. Once again, a classic look.
2006: Florida, again.
2005: Texas- what do you know, a good old look.
2004: USC- one of the better looks in football.
2003: LSU- again.
2002: Ohio State- again, pre pro-combat. The traditional scarlet.
2001: Miami- the most modern looking uniform of the bunch.
2000: Oklahoma- classic.
1999: FSU- the classic spear helmet and red and gold.
1998: Tennessee- the same orange we've worn forever.

Now skip near the end and you will see the Orange under the lights, it looks much different than the Orange jerseys at the Music City Bowl.....Much better.

Among people that took the time to write or call the UTAD, its was overwhelmingly negative. I was at that game, and the crowd reaction to me was the exact same as every other time we ran thru the T.

Its a moot point anyway, Dooley is never going to trot out black. In fact, he's working with adidas to remove all black from the away uniforms.Posted via VolNation Mobile

I've been reading this thread sice I signed up. Basically this thread is where people young, old, traditionalists, and not so traditionalist argue about our uniforms:good!:

What? According to who?

Everyone I know, old and young, like the color going back to what its supposed to be. Especially the younger crowd who likes the "wilder" bright orange. Which I agree with, its great to have a unique loud color. At the MCB, and every other time Im around UT fans I hear all good things about the correct color. I also remember hearing constant complaints about the orange that was way to dark. I dont think anyone liked that! I dont think it was as bad as some think. Some TV's and magazines made it look darker than it was, which I think contributed to some manufacturers making it to dark (especially off brands).

All you got to do is look at an American Daisy and see the real, true, bright orange. Or at Home Depot you can see the PMS151, but remember lighting still makes a diff. Anyway I think by far most like the real, bright orange!!

I have envisioned a jersey of the one in your sig. Not too big on the helmet though

I don't think people realize that that's not a tradition thing, it's an actual useful visibility thing.

I need to see a pic of both jerseys side-by-side. I thought the ones from this past season were a little bright, but you can never tell with lighting these days.

Nike has been a frontrunner for a long time, but under armour has seemed to close the gap! We need to jump on the under armour bus asap!!!!

FYI, russell athletics was based in Alabama in the 90's, and they sponsored both bama & auburn! ... But both teams spurned russell athletics, and bama went with Nike, while auburn went with under armour.

Addidas= Russell athletics!!!!

Recruits care about apparel: fact!

Face it, s.carolinas jerseys have always sucked. But now they actually look pretty good!!! Let's make the change!
