adidas treats ut special in that there is an adidas employ who has an office on campus. they definitely value their contract with the vols.

i suspect that this special treatment, the special money they give us that ua or nike won't match, and the fact that adidas doesn't make us wear arena2 getups are the reasons we are an adidas school.

Boom.

I met the adidas rep that came before the one that was there previously. Really cool guy.

Not only will they do things for the school, but for anything slightly affiliated with the school. I know quite a few businesses that have contracts to be the "official" whatevers of the university also get to deal with adidas fairly easily when it comes to UT branded things.

Sure, but are you implying that Tennessee's uniforms look bad?

as all can tell from my number of posts,i rarely post, just take in all volnation has to offer.before i say my piece on this subject would like to comment on our success yesterday.know they are plenty that wanted a lot more or to make bigger noise but with all that has gone on over the last 3 years, this class along with last years will be the building blocks that gets our foundation in place again and gets the vols back to where we need to be.now, concerning our uniforms,i dont think the vast majority of fans would mind if occassionally we wore a different version of the traditional uniform.be it the black jerseys, pants with broad stripe, all orange uniforms, different looks to the helmet but for the most part stick to our tradition and let the coaches and maybe players decide maybe 1 game a year or 2 if you want to throw in the spring game when to wear a particular different uniform.sorry this is a lot longer message than i intended for it to be but this thread has been going for quite some time and i think the last point i want to make is the one i want to emphasize the most.our university is one of the few in the country that is profittable year in and year out.we are building a state of the art football and training complex.something that really bothers me,why with all the resources available to us can we not get the uniforms that we wear to match.either change the color of the stripes on the helmet and pants or change the color of the jerseys.none of the other schools that i can think of right off hand, clemson,ok state, syracuse,or state have trouble matching the orange in their uniforms.again, sorry for the long post, things are looking up,have patience volnation,go vols,VFL!!!

If you'll look in the background at the UNC guy, their stuff doesn't match exactly, either.

As nice as it would be to match, it can be difficult to get completely different materials to match perfectly.

I have a hundred different "UT Orange" shirts and they're all a different shade. Hey its ok, the sunshine aint always the same color, but everyone knows its still the SUN :)

I agree with what you said for the most part, however. It would be great if you would consider from now on when you do post to do us a favor and throw a few capital letters at the beginning of sentences, or maybe a double space or two after periods, oh and a space after a comma would be nice too. It just makes it easier to read your posts. Thanks and GBO!

I can't wait for the occasional black unis. It will happen someday. Younger donors are on their way and the old southern Baptist thoughts of never change... will um.. change. Tennessee wore black before the days of orange and white just as people got into heaven before their were baptists. Not taking a religion shot, but I think it is a similar mentality.

you know, having a few wildcard uniform options is alright every once in a blue moon, but for pete's sake, oregon's cacophy of uniforms this past season just about killed me. this is college football, not project runway. let's line up and smash some mouths and quit worrying about what the guy next to you or the guy lined up on the other side of you is wearing. dont get me wrong, i witnessed the "black jersey spectacle" and they did look pretty cool but let it die and let's focus on getting our program back to competing speed . . . then we can wear poop brown jerseys with pink pants and a gold helmet or whatever.

id like to think that at least someone affiliated with the AD would point out that the jerseys look 3 sizes too small as opposed to "tech fit."

That's actually the point, that they're tight enough that there is no material for opposing players to grab on to.

The players loved how they fit and how they feel. All the top-level adidas schools will be wearing them next year, to add to the 8 that did this year.

They would look better with underarmor (or similar) t-shirts underneath just like the Nikes. The tight fit exposes too much of the shoulder pads giving the "too small" appearance, a shirt that came to about 2 inches above the elbow (that they wear under the pads) would complete the look.
