It looks like plain orange. UT orange is unique but the tech fit had too much yellow. Our orange to me looks like a push up popsicle and I like it...lol!

I think it's hard to get a specific color to appear in certain fabrics. That's about the only excuse I can come up with for why our stripes on the britsches don't match the numbers on the jerseys or stripes on the helmets....etc.

I just wish we would switch to Nike. Uniforms would be the same, but I just like Nike's gloves, cleats, etc. Also, I think Nike makes better shirts.

Officially the most moronic statement ever on a UT sports message board.

I agree. I have said this before but I will say it again. Tennessee orange is supposed to be light almost yellow. Hell I used to think the american daisy was yellow (my mom grew them). I read some where that Dooley does not like the different colors on the helmets compared to the jerseys, so maybe we will match in 2011:crossfingers:.

I saw some of the new adidas coaches polos the other day. They've gone from sewn on Power T's to iron on. Pitiful. Hope the uniforms are better than that!!

There will be other styles of polos with the sewn logo. The ones you saw are from the "adiZero" line, which is designed to be as light as possible. Less material, less fabric inserts, and screened logos.

DeerPark, can any uniform modifications be expected this year? is the new cleats that someone linked awhile back, going to actually be used?

They were used last year for the skill position players. They are the lightest football cleats made. We were actually a part of the development of them.

Dooley had talked to adidas about removing the black trim on the road unis, but I don't know if anything actually came of that. Fulmer had actually tried that before either the 07 or 08 season (not liking the look of the black trim on the jerseys not matching the no black on the pants after we re-introduced the stripes in 06), but they couldn't get the orange number to stand out enough to be clearly seen, even with HD cameras, without some sort of trim. It's a concern for coaches in the game and on film, as well as TV viewers.

While I like the black trim on the road uniforms, I have to admit it's weird looking that those are the only part of any uniform that has it. Neither pair of pants has any black, the helmet doesn't, and the home jersey doesn't. And it did look better with the stripeless pants.

And considering the other men's teams have embraced the black trim I think it should be kept.

Id like to see tech-fit white jerseys with orange shoulders, from the Condredge Holloway days, but add checkerboard on the inside of the numbers, like bama did with their pro combat unis, just an idea
