I like it. Maybe we can see those sweet black on black matte helmets that were floating around earlier this year.

now those I like. I know alot of the traditionalists do not want to see any changes to the vols uniforms, but as of late, tennessee has been losing in the old look uniforms. I say if a uniform change translates into wins, as long as we don't look as stupid as Maryland and Oregon, go nucking futs.

Tennessee Vols Nike Pro Combat if we are gonna update lets go all the way!

Well all the traditionalists need to go look at the history of our uni's and then they need to stop complaining about possible changes or even alternative uniforms. Our Uniforms have slightly changed throughout the years.
Also alternative uniforms worn once a year is something recruits get excited about. What they don't get excited about is going to a school that is so uptight that they won't even consider something different, even for 1 game a year. If the schools that uptight about a uniform then they probably assume the school itself is equally uptight about everything else too.
Times change and you either adapt or you get left behind. Can you imagine if these "traditionalists" were in control when black athletes started playing in the SEC. They would surely demand that we not allow them to play for our team because they haven't been allowed for years and years before. They would say there are plenty of young white men that would be just as good and we don't need to break that long tradition to get the best athletes and win games.
Imagine how "great" our all white, but still holding the tradition of whites only, football team would be.

I don't know if you geezers know this yet, but kids coming out of high school to play ball do hold uniforms in high esteem. Of course they want to play, win, and be a part of something, but they also want to look good out there! Who wouldn't?

I love my uniform and what it stands for, and as soon as I heard we were switching new uniforms in the army.. I was extremely giddy.
I would be too if I was in the Army. :) Jk

I am not sure how much our new coach has had to do with this. I can't imagine he's had time to work on the wardrobe since he's been here. I would guess this has been in the works for a while. I do like them however.

I like the helmet in your avatar better especially if it was matte black

really, they are ok but i prefer the current helmets... why change a good thing that looks clean and simple.. i hope we don't turn into Oregon and do all these ugly uniform changes... i like tradition and simplicity... most on here will probably disagree with me.

I'm 27, and they look pretty good. Maybe you're an old 27 like Brad Pitt in that God awful movie.

Well, first, it's ok to go bed a few hours past golden girls. That spray on hair does NOT make you look young again. And finally, GET OUT OF THE LEFT LANE! I am young and I have places to be besides water aerobics and the Shriner's Hall.

Thanks, Sir. Keep up the good fight. Except the helmet comment.

back in my day.....wait, you are a few months older than me.

There are a lot of saps in this thread getting trolled... These helmets were made by a fan and MoTrilla retweeted them a few days ago.

If people really thought this was Butch Jones' design (after being on the job a week, I'll spend my time designing a helmet sticker) then they should probably not be allowed to operate the interwebs. :loco:
