Oh Deer. Deer Park that is. He's going to throw another conniption fit over this...and hock his hind leg over it, doing what he does naturally. Making it rain.
Why, because someone painted a custom figure?
Look, I don't care either way on whether we get 50 alternate uniforms or not. All I provide are facts. I shot down rumors of alternates the last three years. I've told people here what Jones told football alums about his thoughts on our uniforms.
I'm not anti-alternate, I'm pro-facts.
yeah not sure why people are trying to call you out. i do have a related question. someone posted long ago that you shot down the black jersey rumor the day before the USCe game. did you?
Sure did, and I told everyone here why. Here's the short version:
Kiffin did that without the permission or approval of Hamilton or anyone at UT. I found out the day before from someone at the local company that did them (who thought I already knew about it), and posted here the day of the game that it was going to happen.
The story of players going to Hamilton the week before was pretty much completely false. They had asked him earlier in the year and he had said no. Kiffin ordered them, paid for them, and showed them to Hamilton Friday when they arrived, after showing the captains. Hamilton told him they would not be permitted to wear them. Kiffin told him they were going to be worn and that was the end of the story. Hamilton caved. The $5300 cost of the jerseys was docked from Kiffin's next check.

i figured there would be a logical reason. thanks for answering, DP. interesting story..Sure did, and I told everyone here why. Here's the short version:

we require a doctor's note on VN, sir, or you will be marked as unexcused.
I like this one.
But I think, white in the checkerboards, orange undershirt, orange T outlined in white for the top.
For the bottom, white T outlined in black, and black stripes.
Either helmet.
That may look like crap, lol But, the idea is black being the background for the orange & white, not a "main" color.
Top notch stuff there CleVOLander, I really enjoy your work!
Not sure if this would look quite right but I thought it looked really sweet on the Oregon guy. Think you could mock this up in orange and white? I know it would be tough to blend the two colors like they did the yellow and green but I just would like to see what fun you could have with it.
CleVOLander, I don't believe that I missed it, so perhaps my latest request fell between the cracks of your most recent flurry of activity. When you have the time, would you be so kind as to mock up a combination of the following: (1) the road jersey worn during the Shuler era (see 1992 Tennessee 34 Georgia 31 (1st Half) - YouTube ); (2) the orange pants illustrated in shelbyvillevol's post above (no. 11587); and (3) some of the orange helmets you have already produced (no use of black as an accent, however)?
And here's what I came up with for this. The socks are a little shorter, plus I didn't add any dark orange or "black" to this like what is seen in the knee area of the Oregon design. I also added numbers to the shoulders like we do as opposed to the undershirt. Used the white carbon fiber for the helmet with a white facemask this go around. Perhaps I shoulda changed the belt to orange or even white...
I really like that! nice job!!
I actually like that as well. I think the helmet should be white, though. Would be an interesting "away" combination.
I would like to see the inverse of that, starting with an orange helmet, fading to white pants, then back to orange at the shoes. I wonder if that would suffice for a "home" combination?

Bit of a side, but I just recently finally broke down and got on Twitter. After some searching around, I ran across my orange carbon fiber helmet and seems it has been retweeted and such alot. I'm new to the whole Twitter thing, get a bit lost in it, but also saw where some were claiming it to be "new for 2013"...I may have misread them or they are just "saying" with no facts.
I also know someone from here had posted some of the alternate unis, but I've yet to run across them at any point on Twitter. Anyone else seen them or anything? Just curious to see where my work travels. : )>
