apparently all the vols lost from last yr is getting beaten to death by people. How come nobody talks about USU literally losing more than we did?

With the disrespect we have been getting in the preseason just think how much the media will have to back step and talk about the Vols if we win? I can't wait to hear Booger Mc$hitstain say he's been wrong...

He will say he was wrong about USU, not UT. Bank on it.

Because VN is in large part a battered wife that at times borders on self-loathing. They are convinced that the past beatings will continue forever.

I look for results, I could care freakin less what somebody writes. The media doesn't know any more about football that most fans, the write crap to sell magazines. If we beat Utah St which we should, I could care less what they print. All we can do is take care of our business of getting better as a team. What anybody writes is not going to have ANY impact on our success, my advice would be quit worrying if the media approves of us or not. If we win enough that will prove the point whether some acknowledge it or not. GO BIG ORANGE!!!!!

The only way we lose is if we get killed on turnover ratio. These guys lost as many players as us and they sure as heck didn't recruit as well.

Barnett, Maggitt and Vereen will have a blast against their 4 new starters on oline.

WRs/TEs will violate secondary where only returning starter is Daniel Gray.

Special Teams are starting to look like a real asset too.

even daniel gray is not a returning starter. he hasnt seen a live game since getting cooked against Troy 2 yrs ago.

There is a chance USU will beat us which would literally be catastrophic for the program.

It's more likely we win a close game and we the fans will wring our hands and be anxious about the SEC schedule. The media (which hates us) will portray it as a Dooley-esque, same ol' Vols, you can't win anything with freshmen.

By far the most likely scenario is that we are going to curb-stomp USU with a hobnail boot in our house by sending wave after wave of faster, stronger, more athletic, and better coached student athletes at them for 60 minutes.

We will be ecstatic until we read the Monday morning media which will tell stories of: Vols still don't know where they are after win, Vols are supposed to beat USU, NCST-like win and Vols will still finish 5 - 7 again, etc.

There will be no good news stories post the USU victory. Our mistakes will be magnified and the good will be shrouded in mystery and diminished. Take it to the bank.

You sound like a real upbeat, battered little biatch.

Your reality check just bounced. Ute should be trustworthy of your team.

And don't sweat the media as they are doing us favors. They keep giving us locker room motivational tools like SI predicting 7th place in SEC West.

The Young Bucks won't let you down!

This is not your Sal Dooley dysfunctional Football Team!

You Gotta Believe!

We will get most of the publicity for that day. I think there are only two games aired on Sunday. Everyone will be watching that game. We must not lose, it's one of our few times to be seen by a huge nation wide audience.

Will the polls wait for us? ...or even care?

Don't know what will happen this year. But if Butch is the kind to point to "poster board material" then there is enough out there to more than cover the biggest poster board going and there's enough for special boards for specific teams like o-who, fu, bama, mizzou, candy, and now, even the little kitties. And if disrespect is a motivational factor for a group of players who are hungry, and I think it is, negativity pointed their way will just pump them up more. Like other posters are saying, will not win them all and may not win more than half but I don't see this group giving up nor do I see the coach doubting and turning his back on the team.

We will not roll over this year.... win or lose. The days of Fooley are behind us, even if it takes another year until we are back in the fight again.

All I know for sure is this: Vols lose to USU, then I'm done till next year because the season is over. Don't act like it's not true....

Over? Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Nothing is over!....Seriously, maybe you shouldn't come back next year either if you really feel that way. That is called conditional support which is not being a real fan of a team. How could you appreciate future success if you bail out now?

That's actually how I feel after a loss for a couple of days after a loss. But, by midweek I have calmed down and I'm thinking clearly(for the most part).

I really dont think we will loose the opener but for some reason we do that dont mean the season is over. Dont be so negative and as my wife would say dont be such a Debbie downer.

Respect is earned, not given. They cant disrespect something we don have. In case you've been asleep since 2008, our record plus some dismal losses to Ky and Vandy have put us in that situation. All we can do is prove them wrong.
