No, we're not lucky it doesn't count. It was a freaking exhibition game. Coaching and substitution patterns weren't the same as for a regularly scheduled game. Geez. I'm almost surprised you typed that

We’re lucky that it doesn’t count as far as being ranked #7. I said we’re about the 10th-15th best team right now.

We may be giving a walk on some of Estrella's minutes if we get in deep foul trouble in the post.

All of the walk ons are guards so we’d have to be going really small. Dubar or Mashack might be forced to play the “5”. At least two of the walk ons are 6’6” so we could be playing very large on the perimeter while being very small inside.

The defensive end would be the problem if a couple of the 3 posts are limited due to fouls. But a few years ago Barnes did say he’d like to have 5x 6’7” or so players on the floor to be able to switch on every screen. At least the Barnes defense is designed to bring a lot of help. But an Edey type would be unstoppable.,

Maybe Barnes could borrow Jeremias Heard a 6'9 offensive lineman from the football squad to pull a Julius Peppers and help out the basketball squad with some inside depth.

That used to happen to some degree a long time ago. Bill Young was a DB and was also on the basketball team. At least as a freshman. Doug Atkins was signed to play basketball.

Baseball had many cross over players. Football players would come to UT to also participate in track and field. I think that Chuck Rohe was on the football staff as a recruiter in addition to being the track coach.

TN played IU on a court in front of a paying crowd. It wasn’t a hypothetical scrimmage. TN didn’t put on one of their best efforts that day and were lucky that it did not count (in order to achieve the #7 ranking). .
Scrimmages never count. In your make believe world, maybe IU is lucky it wasn't a real game because we would have played differently and won. It's a useless point
