I use rivals because it's the best known recruiting site. My agenda was never about picking the random site we were ranked highest on. But rather which one had the most eyeballs to create a positive narrative for Tennessee.

Those 2 sites were ESPN and rivals in that order.

Other classes will move up tomorrow, too. IDT Warrior, Kongbo and Williams will put us in the Top 10. Maybe just outside?

What are you all talking about. Filled our needs for depth already. Vols are great without anymore. Of course more today however. Rich get richer.

DT is lacking depth. If you look at the best teams, they have huge depth on the DL. That is why Kongbo and especially Brown are VERY important. We NEED a HS DT.

Tuttle and McKenzie. Rather have them than anyone on D-Line. They are very special. And VFLs. Checkmate SEC

I would agree in saying we need to land at least one of the two. I would prefer a 4 year DT over a 2 year DE but the odds seem to favor to opposite. That being said, if Johnson isn't a one and done out of JUCO then we can afford to (and I use "afford" loosely) miss on Brown if we recruit really well at DT in the 2017 class.

Gotta love your optimism but what in the world would lead you to think this is even a possibility? Thought I read where Johnson has 3 years to play? I'm hoping he's not another Blair as they were both 4* JUCO tackles.

My bad, I was thinking he had two years to play coming out of JUCO.

Warrior bumped the Vols to #12 on Rivals. Pretty much guarantees a top 20 overrall class

I think too much is being made of Kongbo. Not expressing sour grapes if he doesn't sign with us but he just hasn't played football very long and is raw. He is a project.

I thought our class looked great until I took a look at rest of SEC on Rivals - too many above us (at least now before Kongbo announcement).

3 Bama
5 Ole Miss
6 LSU
8 UGA
11 UF
13 Auburn
15 UT

So basically the traditional cream of SEC plus Ole Miss all outranked us and to add insult to injury UGA got there by only taking 19 but 3 5*s, and Auburn took 20 so their 1 5* is the reason they outranked us.

Kongbo moved us up to 14. What is weird is we have take 21 with 1 5* - same as Auburn and same average grade of 3.52 but they are ranked 10.

Kongbo moved us up three spots. Little chance of passing Auburn since they have spots to fill. We're probably going to stick at #7 in the SEC-- which shows how uber-competitive the SEC is and how much talent SEC schools bring in.

Stars dont count towards Rivals rankings, its your Rivals rating and where the player falls in their Top 150. And
Rivals only counts your top 20 rated players.
