Now if we can pump some noise and enthusiasm into the games. I have never seen a more quiet arena during games than TBA.

It can get rowdy when the game is close, but if we fall behind by 8-10 points it shuts down.. and if we ever get up by 8-10 points, it shuts down. Kind of sad when compared to the 4 places above us. Rupp speaks for itself, UNC's crowd is crazy, the Carrier Dome is insane..

I agree that it's too quiet during games. But, with all due respect and fairness, Rupp, Carrier Dome, UNC, Kensucky... all those schools have a much more significant and longstanding (positive) bball history that we do. I'd say we gotta win a lot more, and a lot bigger, more consistently before we can start comparing the rowdiness factors.

Having a great attendance already is a good start, but we gotta do more on the scoreboard to fuel the fire (or embers, at this point). JMO...

True, however I remember the Stokely Center crowds being much louder than TBA. Although Stokely Center only held 12,700.

Point proven.

Just think it can be much louder regardless of our record.

Have you even been to a game at the Carrier Dome? That place is too big, and when we went there were more than a few times I felt like the atmosphere was bland. That being said, I agree that TBA needs to have some energy juiced into it. I don't think the Carrier Dome atmosphere for an SU game is what we are looking for, though.

The carrier dome can seat about 35k it's ridiculous. When they don't hype the game and put 20k in their it seems empty and as you said unenthusiastic. When they hype it though and have a big time game and put 35k in there, it is insane.

As far as TBA, I don't really know what the answer is. Too big for the amount of enthusiastic fans? You have suites taking up about 5k and they make no noise, most of the lower ball seems to be the old donors who give tickets away or just don't show. In all honest from my experiences the upper level is the most enthusiastic and rowdies people.so if it was a smaller arena with those upper deck ppl close to the floor would it be much louder? Just my 2 cents.

Put all the sit-down blue hairs up top, lower prices for the rowdy young'ns to sit down low so they can afford to, and that place will seem much more enthusiastic. :)

Agreed, but that's be the end of those donations. It's sadly all about money.

TBA would be better if they didn't put the students in terrible sections up top for some games. If they'd open up more lower bowl sections to students, usually the loudest section of the crowd, it'd be much more enthusiastic and it would show for the TV cameras. Every game I've been to this year they've had only the standing section and one section in the corner of the lower bowl for students, the rest of us were pushed up top into two of the corner sections in the upper bowl. You'd think an arena that didn't sell out and is clearly lacking in enthusiasm would want a couple more sections of students down low where the cameras are.

The problem is all those lower seats are sold already. Whether it not people show is another story, but all those lower bowl seats are taken.
