I agree. If we can get out and score quick put them on their heels (that pun is for you Wolfpack fans) I don’t know that they can play that game very well. They did add some good pieces in the portal like McCall and the TE from UConn, but if we can get the tempo I think we’ll be in good shape. Not gonna lie, I am a little nervous for that game. McCall is definitely a gamer and he will have some tools around him.
We should win that game, but early in the year, and anything can happen. I am hoping we contain Mcall at the line of scrimmage and then just score again, and again and again. Beat them to sleep early but it may not be that easy...
State things, like win their 2nd game of the season, which they often do, and they did in 1998 when they beat FSU.They can definitely do that. They don’t have history on their side, but they can do that. They go to Clemson 2 weeks after they play us, and After that they should be favored in every game remaining. But it’s NC State, and they do State things.

We beat NC State in 2012 with Dooley as our coach. We went 5-7 (1-7 SEC) and fired Dooley after losing to Candy. NC State fired their coach after that season and hired Doeren. Hopefully we can beat Doeren. Our lines are far and away superior to their lines.
That being said, Doeren is a good coach. He'll know to attack our secondary.
I’ll be surprised if they finish the season inside the top 20. Not being negative but they lost a lot and their HC was their biggest drawing point.Wow, Michigan wins the natty and falls to #9. I know they have a new coach, but dang...

There are only 2 teams that I see that I think would probably beat us, and those are the top 2. Every other team is a toss up or a W IMO.
Utah jumped out at me too considering they were 8-5 last year. I think the reasoning for them being ranked so high is 7th year senior Cam Rising coming back this year after missing last year with an injury. Their schedule is also really easy so don't be surprised if they are in the playoff conversation at the end of the year whether they deserve it or not.I really don't understand the love that Utah gets every year, when their best accomplishment recently is being Lincoln Riley's Daddy.
Take comfort in the fact that our front seven (or six) is the strength of the team, and defense usually gels before offense. Not gonna lie, I am a little nervous for that game. McCall is definitely a gamer and he will have some tools around him.

Well if ND or Missouri lose 2 or more with those schedules they're unworthy of the playoff. I don't see FSU recovering from that Dawg beatdown 63-3 is bound to cause some "Emotional Damage"!Don't understand the hype with Notre Dame or FSU.
Also skeptical of Missouri. They may be a by product of their schedule this year
That jump to the Big 12 sure made the Utes' schedule easier. No Oregon, no WashingtonUtah jumped out at me too considering they were 8-5 last year. And what typically happens in the third game or after any big win? A loss to an ECU or Boston College type of school ? That’s what I meant by State things. It’s hard to argue against that when State hasn’t won an ACC title since the Carter Administration.State things, like win their 2nd game of the season, which they often do, and they did in 1998 when they beat FSU.
Vols were ranked #10 pre-season going into 1998, so it's getting interesting!
