Don't understand the hype with Notre Dame or FSU.

Also skeptical of Missouri. They may be a by product of their schedule this year
Notre Dame isn’t an elite team, however, tn wide schedule is soft so they should be playoff bound.

Not gonna lie, I am a little nervous for that game. McCall is definitely a gamer and he will have some tools around him.

We should win that game, but early in the year, and anything can happen. I am hoping we contain Mcall at the line of scrimmage and then just score again, and again and again. Beat them to sleep early but it may not be that easy...
I agree. If we can get out and score quick put them on their heels (that pun is for you Wolfpack fans) I don’t know that they can play that game very well. They did add some good pieces in the portal like McCall and the TE from UConn, but if we can get the tempo I think we’ll be in good shape.

They can definitely do that. They don’t have history on their side, but they can do that. They go to Clemson 2 weeks after they play us, and After that they should be favored in every game remaining. But it’s NC State, and they do State things.
State things, like win their 2nd game of the season, which they often do, and they did in 1998 when they beat FSU.

Vols were ranked #10 pre-season going into 1998, so it's getting interesting!

Our lines are far and away superior to their lines.

That being said, Doeren is a good coach. He'll know to attack our secondary.

We beat NC State in 2012 with Dooley as our coach. We went 5-7 (1-7 SEC) and fired Dooley after losing to Candy. NC State fired their coach after that season and hired Doeren. Hopefully we can beat Doeren.

Wow, Michigan wins the natty and falls to #9. I know they have a new coach, but dang...
I’ll be surprised if they finish the season inside the top 20. Not being negative but they lost a lot and their HC was their biggest drawing point.

He is now serving a ban, their entire program will be under heavy judgment from everyone around them.

They got the chip, but I feel the sold to much to get it to be more than a one hit wonder.

There are only 2 teams that I see that I think would probably beat us, and those are the top 2. Every other team is a toss up or a W IMO.

Disagree. I think we're better than Georgia and we would destroy Ohio State. Nobody is better than us this year. Nobody.

We're about to go on a dominant run like Clemson from 2015-2020.

same as with Coaches poll - I don't understand the love for Utah, not sure that any of LSU, Mizzou, or Clemson are better than us right now.
But as with the coaches poll, you could pretty much slot all of those teams (except maybe Utah?) in the 11 through 15 spots at this point.

Be a much different story two or three weeks into the season.
Upside of these huge conferences is that stuff will shake out in the polls much earlier in the season.

I really don't understand the love that Utah gets every year, when their best accomplishment recently is being Lincoln Riley's Daddy.
Utah jumped out at me too considering they were 8-5 last year. I think the reasoning for them being ranked so high is 7th year senior Cam Rising coming back this year after missing last year with an injury. Their schedule is also really easy so don't be surprised if they are in the playoff conversation at the end of the year whether they deserve it or not.

Take comfort in the fact that our front seven (or six) is the strength of the team, and defense usually gels before offense.

Well if ND or Missouri lose 2 or more with those schedules they're unworthy of the playoff. I don't see FSU recovering from that Dawg beatdown 63-3 is bound to cause some "Emotional Damage"!

…more like a huge chip on their shoulder. Next time we face Missouri, they gonna have some ‘splainin’ to do…

ND will have a chance to drop when they go to Kyle Field. (8-31 Opener) A&M got them a Coach, Aggies are actually favored in that game (1-2 points) Unfortunately, A&M' lost a top RB to a leg in the first scrimmage. I hate that, I so want A&M to kick Irish butt.
I agree, I can't stand Notre Dame

That jump to the Big 12 sure made the Utes' schedule easier. No Oregon, no Washington

And what typically happens in the third game or after any big win? A loss to an ECU or Boston College type of school ? That’s what I meant by State things. It’s hard to argue against that when State hasn’t won an ACC title since the Carter Administration.
