"Vols are the SEC's most underrated team in the preseason"

...

What do most Sooners fans on your boards expect?

I think most feel 8-4 or 9-3 is the most probable outcome.

There's potential for 7-5 if things go worse than expected. Also, 10-2 seems reasonable if things go better than expected.

Anything else would be a surprise.

This is not a league where your offensive and defensive lines can be suspect and you still be successful. You’re not in the BIG12 anymore.

OU went 10-3 in the Big 12 with a heisman candidate at qb. Is OU expecting to be better than last year? I can’t imagine so after all the losses they had at various positions.

I see 5 expected wins in temple, Houston, tulane, South Carolina, and Maine (and OU would be wise not to underestimate Tulane or a desperate South Carolina). The rest could easily be losses. I don’t see this schedule without at least 3 losses from Texas, Bama, lsu, ole miss, Tennessee, and mizzou. Going .500 there should be considered a successful first season in the SEC. So yes, I could easily see OU at 9-3 with an 5-0 start and just as easily see 5-7 losing all SEC games other than South Carolina. Games against Tennessee at home and at Auburn will be good barometers for setting the rest of the seasons expectations going into the bye week.
Houston beat OU last time they played.
Tulane is in that same boat.

Auburn is still down, I’ll give them the edge there.

Prediction: I’ll tell you in December.

Intriguing because I keep reading that my Gators are the most underrated team in the SEC, if not the country.

You know what this means -- football season is upon us!
Can a team that will finish below .500 be considered underrated? By the end of this season, Napier will just be happy if he's still employed.

Hmmm -- I'm not sure what you're saying.

Tulane has never beat Oklahoma.

OU beat Houston the last time they played (2019).

In 2016, OU started out slow and Houston beat OU in the season opener (Houston's only win over OU in program history). After losing two of their first three games in 2016, OU won their last 10 games in a row including a double-digit win over Auburn in the Sugar Bowl.
