Vols favored by 8.5 @ Florida

Utah almost lost to a Baylor team that lost to Texas state. They never had any worry of losing to Florida. I was feeling really good about this one. Then Austin Peay happened. Now I'm not sure Tenn wins.
You’re thinking about the wrong things. Transitive property never works in football. Florida is slow on defense, they have bad lines on both sides, and their qb is shaky. They have a good RB, LB core can tackle and they have some very good transfers and young guys who didn’t play at Utah. Beating them in the swamp will not be a cake walk, but we have better athletes, better depth and our defense is going to make it hard for them. We need Mays, Beasley, and our receivers to have a healthy prep week. Our DB’s need to get smarter fast, but we are definitely the better team.

In my opinion (which is worthless) we can win this game handily if Joe will do one thing he's been reluctant to do: use his legs.

I'm not talking about more called runs, I'm taking about taking what the D gives you.

He consistently passes up on easy opportunities to run (which is often a product of the wide splits in our offense).

I'm also not talking about putting himself in harm's way either....if the Defense is giving you 12 yards with contact and it's 2nd and 6, take the 9 yards and slide.

I wouldn't touch this line with a ten foot pole. No clue how this one is going to shake out after yesterday's issues.
Yup. This is one of those weird matchups that seems to have more to do with the teams psyche than talent level. We need to get over the mental hurdle of losing for so long in Gainesville first. I think this is the year, despite what I saw yesterday, but it‘s probably going to be a gut wrenching struggle. Might even require a late comeback. if we win it’ll be close

This is where I'm at. If we pull it off it will be razor close and stressful as hell, as is tradition with the lizards.

Utah is banged up, Baylor was in desperation mode at home-Fighting for their football lives. (looking ahead to Utah?) TxST still celebrating; almost beat a good UTSA team coming off a disappointing loss. This is not last years TxSt . And It's all about motivation. We saw that last night.

Its pretty simple for other teams. Stop or slow down the run and make Milton beat you with his arm and decision making

Lucky for us, the defense seems better than last year.

Special teams are very worrisome though

I’m not a sunshine pumper by any means, but we’ll have a totally different team come Saturday. I really do believe that.

We gave up 20+ to UT Martin last season and destroyed Kentucky the very next week. Same concept.

…I hope

This is the very thing that concerned me preseason. HH was just so darned good at this and Joe is hesitant to do it.

Vols gotta execute and play a clean game brother.
