My newly adopted Miners lose 3-1. Simcox provided most of the offense and scored the only run. Tomorrow I'll check out the Cincinnati Steam.

Both Simcox and Stewart looked good in the field. BCourt didn't pitch in the game.

Lima rallies late to beat Steam 5-4


The Steam manufactured a run in the bottom of the third to take the lead. Jonathan Youngblood (Tennessee) reached on a walk, stole second, advanced to third on a single by Ungerbuehler and scored on a sacrifice grounder by Brian Bien (Bowling Green/Roger Bacon).

McMartin proved solid, giving up just one run on one hit and striking out two to no walks.

Cincinnati added their third run in the sixth. Matt Williams (Cincinnati/CHCA) reached on a single, then scored on a single by Derek Lance (Tennessee) to take a two-run advantage.

To the best of my knowledge Moberg is the only Vol in action of those listed above, he gets the start at 2nd, he's yet to bat. Link for that game works.

Trevor Charpie has been used as the closer for his summer team, Bethesda Big Train in Cal Ripken League. He has pitched 3 clean ninth innings so far with two saves.

The BBT play again on Thurs., I'll put the link up...hopefully they will actually stream the game unlike the Cincy Steam.

The Green Bay Bullfrogs blow a 4-2 lead in the final inning and lose 5-4. Esparza didn't make an appearance, entertaining game though.
