#Vols: Meet Defensive Coordinator John Jancek

I'm in total wait and see mode on this staff.

Dooley was clearly a loser. This staff is clearly of unknown potential.

I don't know who was against a Gruden hire, but everyone who stood against that investment needs a one way ticket out of Knoxville and a restraining order to ensure they never return. He would have won and would have created excited.

These guys.... totally... must show us what they can do. We can't really know they'll lose, as we did with Dooley. But, we can't know they'll win either, as we would with Gruden.

We are UT, which means we will never make a big splash hire. Too many azzclowns in high positions that couldn't care less about the state of the program. We will always be a middle of the road player until the Cheeks & Martins of the world expire.

He mentioned the weight room a lot too. I guess he saw how slow & weak we were. Guys couldn't get off blocks & our dbs & lbs were slow as hell.

You have no way of knowing for certain whether Gruden would have won, lost, peed his pants or ran the program further down. So seriously, stop talking in absolutes you cannot prove. He would have been a killer on recruiting, but when the pigskin hit the turf, he was still an unproven coach at the collegiate level.

I was a full on Grudenite as I believe he would have united the fan base, brought recruiting back in fierce form and brought money back into the coffers of the AD no matter if he had a 1-11 season or 13-0. I had no way of knowing whether or not he would have won, but he would have been my coach and I would have been behind him until proven otherwise just like I did with Dooley.

What I cannot understand is you take a proven college coach in CBJ and say "I don't know if he can win." And on the same post you take an unproven college coach in Gruden and say "I know he will win." Is that some sort of sarcastic joke?

Why don't you try cautious optimism and say "Coach Jones is looking good for the program and I think we will do great things in the coming years" instead of sulking in the corner like a spoiled child that didn't get a new bike for Christmas.

I like that we are going to the 4-3. We just might have the right personnel to do that unlike what we did this year with the that other coaching staff.

his answer to the "SEC football player" question was answered very conservatively

in his defense, it's kind of a silly question to ask a guy.

it almost comes across as "you're not from around here, what do you really know about SEC football, you coacher of slow white players, you"

I see why he laughed

I'll post whatever opinion I have. Get over yourself.

I did say I'd wait and see. Now, pick up the pom poms you kept shaking for Dooley and start shaking 'em for Jones. What else would a guy of your ilk and insights do?

Gruden is also unproven in high school; so why not spend your time keeping him out of yours? Fewer people would recognize the ignorance of your thougths there than those who do here.

BTW, the smartest move you Dool-Aids made was to pick new usernames so folks couldn't easily hold you accountable. But the Nov 2012 start date on the new username should get a special tag as a suspected Dool Fool, jmo. Yet, the ignorance of such posts is recognizable without being associated with any previous username. As Gump put it, "you can't fix stupid."

Let's try this: I've been here for seven years under the same username, and your post was just as irrational to me.

What does "your ilk" mean?

Does a MBA from UT buy you the following logic?

"A coach who has never coached one down in the NCAA == proven, sure winner in NCAA football."

"Guy who has won 4 NCAA conf championships in 6 years == we'll have to wait and see."

Football... it's a game played at different levels. The NFL is the highest.

Hope that helps.

So, you admit they are different levels.

CJG has never coached at the NCAA level.

CJG is a guaranteed success at a level he has never coached.

CBJ has been a success at the NCAA level.

We must wait and see if CBJ can be a success at the NCAA level.

OK. Now I understand.

And again. What does "your ilk" mean?

Jancek accidently got too far in the field of play during the uconn game and got flagged. Butch was chewing his ass out, and the defense was great.

1. a type; class; sort (esp in the phrase of that, his, her, etc., ilk) people of that ilk should not be allowed here
Exactly my point, kind sir. It's always fun to see someone who is too lazy to deal with people in specifics, so instead prefers to generalize them. More lazy logic.

:hi:

So, still clinging to the idea that a coach who has never coached at this level is a guaranteed success, while a coach that has been successful at this level demands a "wait and see" approach?

Explain to me how drafting and recruiting are tha same thing? Explain how coaching up high school seniors and managing NFL vets are the same thing? Explain how managing scholarships and salary caps are the same thing?

Or would it just be easier to bypass that conversation and dismiss my "ilk, class, sort, type" with generalization and call it a day?

Yup... you're simply too quick. Why not wear a dunce hat with a sign saying Gruden can't coach college football?

The dunce hat would be the first signal of intelligence I could associate with your posts here.

As is, it appears you believe yourself.

I guess we can leave it at that since you appear incapable of either dealing with actual debate points, or refraining form ad hominum attacks. Though it's understandable, with your weak position, that this would be the case.

:hi:

Good day to you.

PS: Reread my posts and find any place where I made the prediction that Gruden would not have been a success at the college level. I guess reading comprehension would be a third inhibitor to the conversation.

Glad you didn't use personal attacks and stuck to just posting drivel. Tip: Google the word this time if it's outside your lexicon.
