And Georgia would go on to beat Alabama in the SEC Championship, which would end their playoff chances. If the Vols don't win, but keeps the game close and maybe even force overtime, it could still be win for TN as far as a possible spot in the playoffs. This is the game that decides it all for the VOLS. If TN drops this game it’ll give them the excuse to bring Bama back in the playoff fold, despite TN beating them. Mark my words, it will happen if TN loses this game. The national media already talks as if Bama just had a slip up game, all while still singing the praises of the TN offense. That and the fact that we’ve had to hear week after week of how TN beat ______, but they were overhyped, wait till they play ______. Everyone is waiting for TN to fall, this is the one everyone has been waiting for, so that they can dog TN and act like we weren’t even close, even the fans of teams TN beat(which baffles me because it makes their own team look worse).
I just don’t like leaving it in the hands of the voters. Being one lose team, and having multiple undefeated teams from crappy conferences... we’ve already seen how they drool all over them to help bolster other programs. Hell even if Ohio state loses to Michigan I still see them picking Ohio State over TN because Ohio State is the golden child. Only reason Ohio State doesn’t end up in the playoffs each year is because they USUALLY get taken down by teams they shouldn’t lose too(given that they are gods of football). That and they always pick the very last game of the year to be the only challenging one of the season, Michigan. It’s hard to rebound in the ranking when you lose your last game of the seasonAnd Georgia would go on to beat Alabama in the SEC Championship, which would end their playoff chances.
