Vols open as underdogs vs Georgia

Looks like 9 to 9.5 right now.

Tennessee is 7-1 ATS this season
Tennessee is 2-0 on the road ATS this season

I know Georgia is good. I also understand this game is on the road (for Tennessee)……that is why I think it could be close.

I seriously believe the only reason for the 9 to 9.5 spread is because of the past (for both teams) and the sheer number of attempts teams have been forced to pass on Tennessee…….except KY for some dumb reason (not that a lot more would have helped).

NO team can keep their normal game plan and expect to beat this Tennessee team this year…….it ain’t happening.

I'm just going to try to remind myself all week where we WERE and where we ARE now. Regardless of what happens Saturday. I'm sure I'll be cussing and fussing if we lose - whether it's a close loss or being boatraced - but either way even if we lose this has been the most fun I've ever had as a UT fan. Now being 42 years old I appreciate these things more especially after the drizzling crapstorm of the last 12 years. This team just feels magical. Even if we have a team that's somehow better in a year or two this team will always be special. Because they shouldn't be here but they are.

I'm not afraid of UGA though. I think they are big and physical but I also think if we smack them in the mouth and run by them and score early and often they'll get out of their groove and play our game. And their vertically challenged QB is going to feel the pain. I don't care if UGA burns us several times as long as we put constant pressure on him and knock him around all game long. Their fans will roll over and fold if we can get up on them early. They are peeing down their legs knowing they have to play UT next week. I mean my God when is the last time an opposing fanbase of a #1 ranked team has been actually afraid to play a Tennessee squad? We have nothing to lose but they have everything to lose. Go out there and play with no fear and win or lose I'll try to keep things in perspective. This team will always be special no matter what happens Saturday. But if they beat UGA - they will go from a Cinderella feel good story and a special squad to a legendary UT squad. They will be God's in Knoxville as long as there are people around to talk about football.

Go out there and kick the crap out of Georgia and keep shocking the world. Stick it straight up their butts in their own house and make them realize that UT is BACK and that we aren't afraid of these entitled mouthbreathers anymore.

Everyone assumes we will eventually run out of our glass slipper. On paper we appear to be one dimensional using old school logic. The lines and odds are all recency bias. We are in uncharted territory for all the algorithms.

I’m glad we’re an underdog. Hopefully we will be behind uga in the CFP rankings on Tuesday too. Doesn’t really matter though, the game Saturday will settle things itself. Just win and everything takes care of it’s self

Since the bye, Tennessee has covered every line by over 20pts on average. Vegas has no clue about this team, idk if anyone does.

Maybe I’m misunderstanding what you’re saying. They covered against UTM by 3.5 points and were actually not covering after the missed PAT. If the late TD had counted they would have won by 34 and not covered at all.

Georgia has looked inconsistent throughout the season on defense. They are good, but are they that much better than Alabama? I submit, no.

Tennessee 44
UGA 35

I think having Bama at home was a 7 point advantage for us. We don't have that here. We lose a close one. I hope I am wrong

They have covered the last 4 games, ON AVERAGE, by 20 pts, the UTM game actually brought the average down. They covered by 24.5, 12, 2.5, 27.5, so actually like 17 pt avg, but if you count just SEC games, 21+.
