Vols picked 7th in SEC

I think Bama takes a step back this year. Read an article the other day where Milroe made a good play in practice and the coaches encouraged him to pause and celebrate/acknowledge what he did well before moving on to the next play. He commented how different that was from the Saban regime and the team has to adjust to that. That entire roster will have to adopt a new mindset with the coaching staff, which takes time. I believe they’ll be an 8-4 or 9-3 team this season, and I just bet the under at 9.5 on DraftKings for their regular-season win total.

Alabama and Tennessee look like clones of each other IMO. Both will run an up-tempo offense and both have questions in the secondary. I think the Third Saturday in October is going to be a heck of a game. True definition of a toss-up.

Oklahoma is going to be tough. They have recruited better than Tennessee (and many other SEC programs in front of them) the last 2-3 years. Venables has out recruited Heupel overall (although they don't have a Nico). They had a BIG jump from 2021 to 2022. I think there fans will be rowdy for the game and they have a chip on their shoulder being picked #8. I hope we beat them (again it is a toss-up) but mark my words, Oklahoma will beat someone they are not supposed to do.

I think Missouri is in for a flat season. They didn't look that great/where not impressive, in their black and gold game. The stars are also lining up for Texas and Ole Miss to have let downs. Too much hype around them.

As a Mizzou fan we could definitely get Beat By Bama(more than likely) OU push even though it's in CoMo, A&M and Even Auburn. But you can't take anything from the Spring Game it's about not getting starters injured and getting the Subs Reps.

Recruiting has to take a step up in order to move up into 2nd tier SEC standings.
Right now we are in Tier 3. We celebrate top 300 commits, Bama and Ga celebrate
top 100 recruits regularly, big diff.

We can't be satisfied with placing in 6th or 7th in SEC recruiting and then rely on transfers.
Tend to agree here. But getting Heard out of the portal was huge.

Right now, LSU GA and Bammer are ahead of us. LSU has no business being ahead.

247 dropped Mac in rankings. Hopefully we pick up Sanders. But yes, that top 100 seems to be a hill for us to get over.

I already know the answer, I was just waiting to see if anyone else would say it honestly.

The honest answer here is that in 4 years, CJH and his staff has failed to recruit at a level high enough to get us in a position to be considered in that conference top 5. And to coincide with that, he's struggling once again to get the current 2025 recruiting class in the top 10 nationally.

I see the honeymoon phase for many here has still not ended with CJH. Thats fine. 20 wins in 2 years is nothing to sneeze at. But we ARE in year 4 and IMO, to still have some of the deficiencies and lack of depth we have at certain positions in year 4 is a recruiting red flag. Not to mention our seeming lack of involvement and urgency in the transfer portal. We are supposed to have one of the best NIL programs in the country, yet our recruiting and transfer portal rankings don't seem to reflect that.

Again, year 4, 20 wins in 2 years, and supposedly one of the best NIL programs in the country. So why are we struggling to be considered pre-season top 5 in the conference and in the top 10 in recruiting again??? At what point do we start saying this isn't good enough?
beating Florida could be a start. That being said. I see us at 10-2 with losses against GA and OK or Bama (we split them this year). Nico is x factor and offense will make up for our back end defense . Also our pressure and sacks will help that too. Big breakout year. Playoffs and we grab a win or 2 there as well.

It is a weak schedule... and I believe they'll still lose 4 or even 5 games.
Agreed, Mizzou loses this season to A&M, Bama, Oklahoma, and possibly South Carolina and/or Auburn. Maybe even Miss St, depending on how that team recovers from their mourning period.

They'll beat Vandy, Arkansas, and their four cupcakes.

So 6-6 to 9-3 seems to be their realistic range in 2024, with 7-5 or 8-4 most likely.

Go Vols!

This seems to happen every year. VOL fans are never happy with early media rankings. I’m one of them.

My perspective every season…
- VOLs begin undefeated
- I’ve bought into VolNation hype
- The hype videos have my blood boiling
- VOLs have a key player ready to challenge for a Heisman
- With a break or 2 the VOLs have a favorable schedule

We should be #1! We’ll win the Natty! Nico for Heisman!

Go VOLs!

UGA has earned their position but 2-9 in the SEC look like toss-up games. This could be a wild one. Tex and Mizzou benefit from soft schedules.
