Vols recruiting woes of the past

The not having to worry about having character players didn't start with the legacies and and them. Dooley gets bashed for his recruiting but people tend to forget that he left a team full of players that CBJ doesn't have to worry about each night when he closes his eyes for some sleep. Something Dooley didn't have the luxury of when he first got here or during the majority of his era.

I know CBJ has had it soooo much worse to so many, but this is a factor people tend to overlook.

(This isn't to u TVA cause I know u and I have many similar takes on the dooley era. Just a comment. And sorry for putting u in the dooley haters crosshairs. Ha!!)

Pretty much sums up how we got where we are. It's gonna take a few years to get back to the top of the sec.

Dooley did more damage than some iffy recruiting classes.

He was jumping off a sinking ship? Hart didn't seal him up? He wanted to go back to his roots? It's funny how people throw out stuff and no one knows which is the actual reason. Whichever fits ur personal belief about Dooley's era is used. That's pretty much what I've been able to tell about this place.

Was Sal dooleys 1st choice or was it Hart's??? I'm sure you'll say it's Dooley's first choice without a doubt cause that fits ur thoughts on dooley. Of course cause u r someone that could have done soooo much better right??

I don't have a clue as to why majority of our coaches left, it wasn't just Wilcox. My opinion is that it was a number if things as to why Wilcox left. I do think he saw no improvement in the program he saw it deteriate. And I do also think that a lot of it had to do with wanting to get back closer to "home".

As far as who was the 1st choice. I don't know that for sure, if I remember right there was a couple of names being thrown around at that time. And yea I'm sure Hart had a lil sumthin sumthin to do with the SUCKsari hire. Could he have been a good DC? I can't say. All I know is that his one season here was horrible, but hind sight is we will never know what he coulda done with recruits to "fit" his schemes.

As far a Doolittle is concerned, you can go back to read some of my posts and while he was here I supported him fully. I wasn't happy with him because I thought our program deserved better. He just never got the job done. And there could be a number if reasons as to why, we'll never know.

And as I've said in multiple threads I am no coach and I do not claim to be. But is it wrong for someone as myself to voice my opinion on a topic that has been posted on a discussion board created to discuss people's opinions of said topics?
