We lost to NC so if it's between Vols or them, NC should get the nod. But....I'm more concerned about our team showing up ready to play like they are capable.

Actually I don't think they are good enough for a one OR two seed. Inside play is too soft and wings are not good enough shooters ( "K" not included as he is to me a rover not a wing per say) and one good guard (sorta small) just can't do it all. Good team that just isn't top of the heap.

Agree on UNC…they at least advanced to conf tourney finals. We lose our last 2 games and lost to UNC. Hate it but we gave up our leverage the last 2 games.

I hadn’t seen that, but if the committee chair really said the #1 seeds had been decided prior to tournament weekend, don’t be surprised if we’re one of them.

Not lucky at all to hang onto a 2 seed. The carnage in college basketball the last three days shows just how vulnerable every program is. Our overall body of work and difficult schedule pretty much assures us of a 2.

Disclaimer: It’s the NCAA and the tournament committee, and as such, anything is possible.

The stuff about them not caring about conference tournaments is BS. Wisconsin and Illinois have both improved their seed in the last three days, as an example. Lunardi now has Illinois as a 3 and Wisconsin a 5 in the latest projections.

Agreed, a lot of concern over our seeding when it won't matter much if we play like we did with Ky and MSU. Plus, if you're a #1 seed and get bounced early it looks worse than being bounced as lower seeding.

UNC had the #1 locked after TN loss to State and UNC made it to the semis. It’s not the TN loss but how they lost, imo, as TN was never in the game.

Iowa State will be on the two seed line.

I don't like the inconsistency of all this - one year a tournament win is not important - the next year it is.

I feel the committee is only looking for any way possible to keep an ACC team as one of the number 1 seeds. I have full confidence that the committee is going to put Tennessee in a spot where there is a higher possibility that they lose. Bama was the SEC darling and Tennessee blew that for them.

I think people are confusing the Sunday games not mattering much for conference tournaments not mattering. By the time we get to Selection Sunday the committee is down to 2-3 scenarios based on the few games today. Seeds are locked at this point, the only question is if any potential automatic qualifiers might force a change or two.

I think the 2nd 2 seed now. Iowa st should get 4th 1 seed. Then UNC now a 2 with us right behind.

The loss to MSU was bad but UK was just unconscious on fire from 3 in our game. If they could bottle up hitting 50% from 3 vs the field, they'd win it all. We didn't have a bad O game vs them.

Guys…. Iowa State is not getting a 1-seed. You can have your opinion and it will be respected but they are absolutely NOT getting a 1-seed. And neither are we. The top 8 teams will be:

1. UConn
2. Purdue
3. Houston
4. UNC

5. Tennessee/Iowa State
6. Iowa State/Tennessee
7. Arizona
8. Marquette

The 2-seeds may change a little in order but those will be the top 8 teams. I don’t see how the 2-seed line involves any other teams and none of these are jumping up to a 1-seed

I agree, but it’s only out of pure cynicism for the committee and their process.

These résumé’s aren’t that close, IMO:

Jerry Palm at CBS now has Iowa State as a ONE seed.
