Vols should still be a one seed.

There is no way Tennessee gets a 1 seed. None. Zero. Tennessee losing to Kentucky started to close the door, and the Mississippi State loss slammed it shut. The four 1 seeds are UConn, Purdue, Houston, and UNC. You can take it to the bank.

Even had UNC lost before the finals, they were already ahead of Tennessee. The sudden change in media articles praising UNC last week showed the committee's hand early. The only thing Vol fans should worry about now is which #1 seed they're going to be paired against, and how they intend to get there to play them.

What you wanta bet Tenn gets Miss St if they get past the 15 seed.........

Palm also states ad nauseum that he doesn’t believe the committee is affected by the names on the front of the jerseys. I think that’s a mistake.

Iowa St has handled their business all year. Then yesterday; blasting Houston....... The fighting Johnny Majors Cyclones will make plenty of noise in the Tourney.

Purdue lost in their tournament

Despite losing in the first round of the SEC tourney, the team is still deserving of a one seed. They won the toughest conference in basketball this year and had to win 3/4 against top 25 teams to win the league.
I would have to give it to Iowa St. Vols definitely deserve a 2 seed, but the way they ended the season destroyed their 1 seed bid in my opinion. Interesting though that the Vols beat everyone still playing + the ACC tournament champs.

The Ncaa tournament will show that Auburn is the best team in the SEC. Yes, Tennessee beat em at Knoxville, played their best game all year, IMO. Auburn has been the most consistent . They are final 4 material.

The loss to MSU was bad but UK was just unconscious on fire from 3 in our game. If they could bottle up hitting 50% from 3 vs the field, they'd win it all. We didn't have a bad O game vs them.
Did you miss the first 15+ min when we started 3-18? We shot 25% from the field in the 1st half and dug a hole too deep to get out of. And yes, UK was unconscious from 3 but a lot them were wide open too. We immensley overhelp on drives and are either too slow to get back out to the 3 line or are simply way too deep and no one would make it back out.

Great season and the Vols were in contention for a One seed. Kind of needed time off as all energy was drained after winning in Columbia, SC. Two seed is fine and not much of a case for a One following the past 2 games. Regroup and regain focus - the veteran Vols will be ready for an epic run in the NCAA where the quality will rise to the top.

It was one bad half of basketball. We scored 37 in the 2nd half and got it rolling a little, had it to nearly back to 10 late in the game, just too big of a deficit to overcome. I’d rather lay an egg in the first half then find it in the 2nd than the other way around heading into a tournament.

Yes, Auburn handled MSU pretty good Saturday and pulling away from Florida in the xship game.

If the loss to MSU pushes the vols to a 2 seed, the loss by Houston should also push them to a 2 seed and the loss by UNC should push them to a 2 seed.

Either the tournament games matter or they don't.

1 seeds were set by Friday evening.

Championship games only means something for automatic qualifiers.

A one seed in a hard draw isn’t much of a consolation prize. If the current projection by ESPN is correct then dropping to a lower two seed in an easier bracket is actually working out better

I think every team in the country, including Tennessee, needs to worry about one thing only…their next opponent. There is a lot of parity and this upcoming tournament looks like it could be a wild free-for-all.

It will not surprise me at all if we see zero 1-seeds at the Final Four.

Then why were they like 1-7 vs Q1 teams coming into the SECT? Auburn feasted on a terrible non-conference and lost the one tough game they played vs Baylor. They played 6 games vs us, Bama, UK, UF and SCar, we played those teams 8x. They didn’t play anyone remotely close to UNC, KU and Purdue OOC.
