I wasn’t aware you’re on the selection committee.
I wasn’t aware you couldn’t use past experience and eye balls to see this for yourself. I’m not saying I like it, but if you put it past them to slide bama before us with 2 losses due to our lackluster offense and bama looking better at the right time EOS then you’re just burying your head in the sand.

Wow 4 of the top 5 are in the BIG with the lone SEC being former B12 newcomer Tx.

It's hilarious that if we beat UGA and Bama and FL in same year we still won't be #1 or #2 but indiana can play Western Idaho Tech and Jimmy Johns Sandwich Prep and get in the top 5
I posted earlier today that the Sec strength of schedule should definitely mean something. You make Indiana play in the sec and they have two losses at a minimum right now. Same for BYU and the Irish. This league should get at least 5 and possibly 6.It won’t happen but definitely should

Indiana? Wow.
Absolutely no reason for Indiana or BYU to be in the top ten. They have done nothing to prove that they could be competitive with a top program. Somebody is always going to be the smartest kid on the short bus, but that doesn't mean they should be in the discussion for valedictorian.

I have generally positive feelings toward IU, but it’s time for Cinderella’s carriage to turn back into a pumpkin. I’ll be saying O-H along with the neighbors in two weeks; that doesn’t happen often.

The SEC seems to be changing with other teams being able to challenge and beat UGA and Bama who have dominated for a long time. Those who rank these teams are having a hard time understanding who is going to come out on top.

Meanwhile the teams that migrated to the B1G have tanked - USC and UCLA have not panned out - and the B1G seemed to have protected some of their teams by not creating the same level of matchups that the SEC has created.

In the SEC we have already has several "playoff type" games due to the matchups. Good idea I guess when the schedules were made but what it seems to be leading to is a large set of really good 2 loss teams some of which are going to be left out of the playoffs even though they could beat a lot of the teams with 0 and 1 losses.

Looks like they ceded to the talking heads who were complaining about Indiana and BYU being behind some known teams.

Indiana jumps to 5 because they barely beat a bad Michigan team!

This has been my fear, The SEC will cannibalize itself every year while the soft azz snowflake conferences end up with better win/loss records. This whole thing feels like a conspiracy to bolster the powder puff conferences .
Meh, SEC still likely gets 4-5 teams in. The two weakest P4 conferences likely only get one each.

Why!? Oh why. do you poll pouters give yourselves aneurysms!? It's noting but politics. Votes based on primarily lies. And who gives the most money, and flattery. Why can't you enjoy the Vols being back to winning? Content with the Vols beating whoever is in front of us on the field? Whining won't change the biased, crooked, baboonery, and nighttime jungle screeches of pollsters. So insist on being candidates for visits to a brain surgeon's office?

Yep. As we've been saying in the other thread on the coach's poll, this weekend is an elimination game for both teams and we should expect all out war (not a literal Kellen Winslow war, obviously, but you know what I mean) on that field.

No one's going to give the Vols a playoff spot. They gotta go take it - from Georgia.
Couldn’t agree more

That's the mentality we need to take down there.

Hopefully Ohio State destroys Indiana bigly.
Welp, tOSU beat Penn State pretty handily as PSU didn’t even score on an offensive possession - special teams FG and defensive pick 6 were there only scores and look where they sit today.

STILL a lot of football left to play.

Go Vols - just win, baby!

You guys need to back off, Indiana is clearly great because they have beaten ONE team with a winning record. And get this. They are going to play another ONE!
Some useless trivia about the storied tradition of Indiana football : This is their first 10 win season .... EVER.
