versatile depth that might help bridge Mays to satterwhite. Nothing to get excited about but if they do push out more of our current OL we’ll still need older bodies
I’m just getting antsy, waiting for that “heck yeah” type guy.

No disrespect to him personally........

A 6'1" 285 tackle for one season from a terrible CUSA team? No thanks, Vols just really need to up there game, especially using the portal. Need someone that can FOR SURE come in and start day one.

Looks like he has a handler and that part of it sucks. What's in it for the handler?
You still have time to delete this. Horrible take....

Norman Lott was a great addition and no one knew a thing about him before he arrived

Some info on this kid:

Vols lead here and attended high school with Bennett Warren (Current OT commit)

Warren tells me Strickland would be a big get, says he’s an extremely hard worker that plays both G and C.

Thanks for the info. Do you know if they're telling him Mays is gone and he will compete to start or if they're talking more about him being the guy at center 2 years from now?

My guess, and it's pure speculation on my part, is they offered immediate playing time with our depth at guard and the chance to start in 25.

And at some point we HAVE to play kids we recruited in HS. Going into year 4 and potentially have an oline with no kids we recruited from HS. That's not good.
Week ago Lang was the future at center, now we’re offering a 3rd string with mediocre offers. Makes no sense.

Missed that, who said Lang was the future at C?
There was lost a few days ago, maybe a week, that was giving little tidbits of some of the new guys. I’m about 99% sure it said something about Lang being the future at center.

@MarcoVol
7. Lang -- he's the future at center. Physically he's ahead of where he is mentally of playing at tempo and all the ask. He's going to be green when he get throw into the fire, whenever that is, but the feeling is that he's going to be a good center.

From Hubbs.

Then on top of that William Satterwhite can play or plays center

Do we really have the spots available for a depth piece? We are already 2 less scholarships because of the Gump. I would think our scholarships should come at a premium. We need good quality OL who can help immediately. Not backups that may never contribute.

So basically we don’t need this TAMU OL

Idk I’m not the coach. I personally don’t see why we need to use the portal for “bridge” players

Portal = immediate impact
HS = Develop the kids till they are ready.

On top of that his offer list is mediocre as heck. I hope he takes the Houston offer and runs with it. Kids from TX so hopefully he stays instate
