Like I said, if this was a Buzz team, we would probably only be up by 7 or 8 right now.

We might not win many big games this year, but I think we're going to win the ones that we should. 6 players in double figures is great. 7 turnovers and 32 assists is great.

Game over, Vols win! Only 8 turnovers, 32 assists and over 100 points scoring. Plus, the defense played well. Go Vols.

Very impressed with Coach Pearl. One thing you can be sure of, he will get the most out of our players, and will have them playing with heart and determination. Great game for them tonight!

Sounds like we may have a decent team...Even though they were playing Carson Newman...Carson Newman isn't bad though, they're just playing a team out of their league...I'm looking forward to both the men's and women's teams this year

Carson Newman IS bad. We beat them 95-59 last year and they finished 12-16.

Did we beat them that badly?? So much for if this was a Buzz coached team. :blush2:

I still think we will be better. I think Pearl will emphasize defense and rebounding more than Buzz. I'm really impressed with the recruits.

We still played well. Big stat of the night: no turnovers for Asmunu and our turnover to assist ratio was awesome. The bad news was our foul shooting. Andre Patterson was a big difference out there. He looks like our best interior option at this point.

I think a lot of guys will have to contribute. Watson is the second best option right now but I think Patterson can really help. Wingate has got to get tougher and more aggressive around the basket. Bradshaw and Smith will get some buckets. Childress showed a few nice moves tonight although he still has a lot of work to do. I honestly think the x-factor on this team is Asumnu. If he can get some confidence back and play within himself without going crazy, he could average 10-15 points. He has the athletic ability and he showed better touch around the basket tonight than I have seen in a while.

Is there any hope for Wingate to turn into a 12 pt/7 reb guy?

I think it's definitely possible but he needs to get a lot meaner. He has nice touch around the basket and he was so highly rated coming out of high school. All he needs is to be more physical. Major has a really nice baseline spin move. I honestly think he and Asumnu have the most to gain from Pearl.
