Vols you played with or against growing up

One of my friends had this happen to him by Vincent Yarbrough when we were playing Cleveland. Vincent dunked on him in a game and broke the backboard. It was on SportsCenter. He never lived it down :eek:lol:

My buddy got clowned by Randy Moss like that. Dude caught the ball, turned, hurdled my buddy and ran 40yds for a TD. The play was all over Scholastic Sports America.

Edit: sorry to the younger folks....upper twenties and younger. I'm sure you guys probably don't know what Scholastic Sports America is/was. The older farts like me do. That show was the freaking bomb.

Played in a scrimmage against Dominque Stevenson when he was a senior and I was a freshman.

When I was at Sevier Co we faced Teddy Gaines and Eric Locke. Locke played QB, kicked field goals, punted and returned punts. I think he had over 500 All-Purpose yds against us that night. Riverdale was stacked that year!!

My mom, sister, and aunt rode an elevator with Travis Henry. Lasted 15 seconds. All gave birth 9 months later.

I played against Haskell Stanback in a pick-up basketball game on the court between Hess Hall and Melrose Hall. He was a much better running back than a basketball player. He was pretty fast though.
Good Lord, you and I may have played together. I played mucho BB there and the across the street from the Presidential Complex. :hi:

Played against Corey Fleming and Dwayne "The Train" Dodson. Chris Treece lived in my neighborhood. Alvin Harper was at his house alot.

I also played football and ran track against Reggie Cobb and Preston Warren. Not to mention Tony Flannigan and Willy Lundy.
The only time I remember Reggie getting beat in a meet was by Preston Warren. Is that you Preston?

Nope played at OR beat Reggie in the dstrict championship. Granted he was a soph I think and I was a junior.

We put Scott, Leonard, Conrad, Priest and myself on our frat football team. Lasted one game until the student athletic dept outlawed existing players. lol

Saw Phil Fulmer lie on a beer-slogged basement floor and gator like a drunk. :eek:lol:
That was last year. Have you seen Phil lately?

I played cards with J.J. McKlesky in the common area at Humes Hall. I played pick up basketball with Nikki McCray. We also did physical therapy together to rehab our torn ACLs. I had an Economics class with Peyton Manning and Todd Helton. I also say beside Heath Shuler in a communications class.

I never spoke to Peyton or Todd Helton (such a huge class), but the other guys were great people!!

I played neighborhood football with Bill Bates. He was all-time QB. We were in middle school and he was already at UT. I graduated HS with his younger sister.

Played some backyard ball with Jimmy Colquitt in a South Knoxville neighborhood when I was little. Does that count? Lol

Other than that, my only claim to fame with a Vol is that I played at Morristown West where Little Man played. I was there a few years before him though.

Hey InfiniteVol, I went to West and played baseball and ran track with Little Man. Class of 90 and I've been in the AF for 21 years. I'm sure we know each other...

Played against Justin Harrel. He was playing tight end in a HS game I was at LB trying to cover him on a seam up the middle. A stiff forearm to the chest put my a$$ on the ground.

Ryan Karl busted up my hand as a freshman. I earholed Jacques McLendon in a scrimmage, and played against the Sullins twins. They werent that good.

Also played against Golden tate, greg hardy, mike oher, harrison smith, and played against kevin cooper in football and baseball. Might have scrimmaged against Jac smith but I never knew for sure.

I played against Andy Kelly and Jessie Messimer (Rhea Co.) Chip Strickland and Rodney Ballard (East Ridge) Shazzon Bradley (McMinn Co.) Mike Kelley (Red Bank)and Nate Middlebrooks all UT signees and also against Bryan McGee(Georgia) and Stefan Scotton (Ga. Tech). Played with Duke and Clemson signees.

Middlebrooks was one of my coaches in hs.
