Chuck Webb also walked off the field with a torn ACL. Walking off means nothing....

Unfortunately I was at that Pacific game with my Dad on the 50 15 rows up with too good a view of that...That old turf was awful

I think they were encouraged that he left the game without ice or crutches not just got up off the field.

Yes Hunter (and others) got up and walked off but the field but they took him to the locker room and he came back out on crutches.

Like many have said, nothing is definitive until the MRI but I'm sure the training staff performed an Anterior drawer sign and felt confident it wasn't too bad.

Who cares if he misses Oklahoma........ SEC games matter much more. No need to rush the young man back too early. Give him time to heal and be 100%. Glad it wasn't serious. Praise the Lord.

Ive torn my ACL before, no way in hell you just walk off the field after tearing it, without crutches or ice. Hopefully, this means it is just a sprain for Wolfe.

Not really true. There have been guys that have torn it and played the rest of a game. It's usually one extreme or the other; you either don't even know that you did it, usually just an ACL tear with no damage to the MCL or Meniscus. In the other case, with the ACL and MCL, perhaps meniscus, you know and you can't walk, probably not even stand up. I did the second last year skiing. It was painful as hell and I couldn't move my leg.

When Jamal Lewis tore his ACL versus Auburn in 98, he ran another play for like 12 yards before coming out.

I tore mine and it didn't get fixed for 28 years. No surgery just six weeks of rest. I played football, baseball and basketball. Tore my MCL and they repaired it then!

Jamal Lewis went back in and ran about 38 yds, tried to make a cut and realized he couldn't. His own words he said my brain said cut left but my body kept going straight. He said he knew then something was wrong.

:eek:k:

I think the new philosophy this year on injuries is hush hush. Why publish for the next opponent?

You must have not seen Chuck Webb walk off the field like he was okay. Sometimes you can walk off, it has been done many times. GO VOLS!!!

Hope its not what I just heard. Dislocated ankle and out for season, that would suck for him. He's a playmaker.
